One of the most rewarding parts of my work is the opportunity to educate and engage communities through public speaking. Whether presenting to a small group or a large audience, I view every speaking engagement as a chance to inform, inspire, and make a meaningful impact.

One of my goals at the Alzheimer’s Association is to expand access to education and resources in rural and underserved communities across Hawaiʻi. Waianae is a perfect example of why this work matters. Through collaboration with Project Dana and Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, we were able to bring the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s program directly to the community, helping individuals and families access important information close to home.

Thankful for every opportunity to educate, connect, and serve our community while raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Together, we can help ensure that no community is left behind when it comes to education, support, and access to resources.

If you’re on Oʻahu, I encourage you to join us at an upcoming program. These educational sessions are free, open to the community, and designed to provide valuable information, resources, and support for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Mahalo, Hawaii!

As we wrap up New Year’s and step into 2026, we mahalo you all!

Because of you, the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Hawaii Campaign raised over $1,000,000.

To our sponsors who stood with local families, our volunteers who gave their time and heart, and every walker who showed up with purpose, thank you.

This isn’t just a milestone. It means more support for caregivers, more education and resources for families, stronger advocacy, and momentum toward better treatments, and ultimately, a cure.

Here is to carrying that hope forward all year long.

I’m so excited to be representing the Alzheimer’s Association Aloha Chapter at today’s Aloha United Way Downtown Workplace Giving Campaign Rally. It’s a great opportunity to come together with other partner agencies and show our commitment to helping Hawai‘i thrive.

If you make a donation to Aloha United Way, you can choose the Alzheimer’s Association to receive your support. Every gift makes a difference.

Still feeling the energy from our Alzheimer’s Association Hawaii Leadership Board retreat this past weekend.

It is not every day you get to sit in a room filled with people who give their time, talent, aloha and heart to move a mission forward. We laughed, we shared stories, we tackled tough questions, and we left with a clearer vision of how we can better serve our communities and support families facing Alzheimer’s.

A huge mahalo to our board for showing up with such commitment, and to Jennifer Oyer with Community Impact Advisors for guiding us through thoughtful conversations that pushed us to think bigger and bolder.

We have work ahead, but with this kind of passion and purpose, we know we’re on the right path.

The views at today’s meeting were absolutely breathtaking. The sky was so clear it felt like a dream.

It was an honor to gather with the Alzheimer’s Association Aloha Chapter Board for our retreat. Together we reflected on the four levers of our organization, discussed how to move our mission forward, and renewed our commitment to serving our community with compassion, dedication, and aloha.
