Bluewater Mission Justice Ministry

Bluewater Mission Justice Ministry Justice Ministry cares for those trapped in the exploitative sex industry through outreach; aftercare; community education; and partnership with others.

We started the Justice Ministry in 2008 based on the promptings of God through dreams & prayers. A primary focus of the ministry is caring for those trapped in the exploitative sex industry through outreach; aftercare; community education; and partnering with local churches, as well as, national and international organizations. The ministry also provides assistance to victims of labor trafficking

as well as sex trafficking. We build avenues of restoration for each victim based on their individual needs. Our vision is to see a movement of justice in churches across the state, creating safe havens for victims all throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Since 2008, we have helped nearly 100 women, girls, and their children leave exploitative trades and pursue their dreams in life again. The young women who come through our doors average a 70% success rate. Our safe house saw over 20 residents in 2012 alone, ranging in age from 16 to mid-30’s. Over the years we have supported legislative change and seen Hawaii enact its first trafficking laws as well as bring stiffer penalties to traffickers, pimps, and customers by updating existing laws. Through outreach efforts we have connected with hundreds of young women, girls, and boys lured into Honolulu’s sex industry. We encourage people to get involved in the fight against trafficking. Worship + Prayer Today | Honoring Mothers & the Ministry of Sacrificial Love

Monday, May 12 - Prayer & Worship @ 5:30-6:30pm

Matthew 6:10
"Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."

You're invited to join us for a time of worship and intercession with the Justice Ministry. We’ll gather to seek God’s heart and pray for those walking through grief, addiction, recovery, and redemption—often all at once.

This past Friday, I received a call from a woman I haven’t seen in years. As she boarded a plane to say goodbye to her mother—who was being kept on life support until her arrival—she reached out to ask for prayer. In that moment of heartbreak, she turned back to our Bluewater community for spiritual covering.

🙏 What an honor it is to be remembered as a place of prayer.

🙏 What a sacred trust to stand with someone at the edge of such deep loss.

🙏 Please be lifting her up this week as she walks through mourning, memory, and the mystery of God's nearness in grief.

This weekend, as many celebrate Mother’s Day, I’m reminded that some of the most profound mothering doesn’t come from biology alone. In Justice Ministry, we are constantly called to become spiritual mothers and fathers—people who carry God’s love, protection, and presence to the vulnerable.

Whether you're raising children at home or walking alongside others in prayer, discipleship, or recovery—thank you. The world is changed by your love.

Join us in prayer + worship today
🕖 Time: 5:30-6:30pm
📍Location: In town (mesage me for exact address)

Bring your heart, your voice, your tears if needed. God meets us in the grit and the gentleness.

"To Us a Child Is Born" – A Justice & Jesus Reflection on Isaiah 9:1-7
Isaiah’s words always move me:
"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness, a light has dawned."

Every time I read this, I see the faces of the women and children. It brings tears to my eyes.

In the early days, I saw the faces of those who had been in my dreams that prophetically led me to start the ministry. But over the 16 years of ministry, I now see the women & children we have served. Many have come from places so dark that hope seemed impossible—abuse, exploitation, fear, and loss pressing in from all sides. For them, it wasn’t just hard or symbolic; the valley of the shadow was a literal life or death situation.

But then, somewhere in the middle of it, light broke through. Jesus showed up, and everything started to change.

Maybe your experiences didn’t feel like life and death, but perhaps you’ve known darkness —seasons of grief, confusion, or waiting for a breakthrough. Do you remember what it felt like when the light finally came? When you felt God lift the shadow and show you the way forward?

That’s the journey we get to witness in this ministry, and it’s incredible.

Jesus is everything that we need. No program, therapy, or self-help method can do what Jesus does. “To Us A Child is Born” - is the rescue op we all needed and the only way this ministry works.

Women are starting to see the possibility of a new life. They’re learning to hope again, to trust that God has something good for them. And while some are just beginning to step out of the shadows, others are starting to stand in the light, feeling its warmth and realizing they don’t have to go back.

Still, my heart longs for more. I pray for the women who haven’t yet found the light and for the ones who are still learning to trust it. And I pray for all of us—that we would press forward together, into the fullness of God’s promise:

"Of the greatness of His government and peace there will be no end… He will establish and uphold it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever."

This is the hope we cling to: a Kingdom where peace, justice, and righteousness have no end. It’s not just a distant dream—it’s a promise for today, for tomorrow, and forever.

As we celebrate this season, let’s remember what God has given us & how far God has brought us. Let’s thank Him for His light (Jesus) breaking through the darkness, for His justice making things right, and for the promise of His everlasting peace. And let’s keep praying—for the women and children in this ministry, for each other, and for a world still waiting for the fullness of His Kingdom.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. Your prayers, encouragement, and support are a light to so many.

May Jesus be born into all areas of our life this Christmas,
-Vern
