Everyone deserves care that feels safe, respectful, and welcoming.

During Pride Month, Ke Ola Mamo recognizes the importance of creating health spaces where māhū, LGBTQ+ community members, and all of our ʻohana can show up fully and be treated with dignity.
For Hawaiʻi communities, wellness has always been connected to belonging.
When people feel seen, respected, and supported, they are more likely to seek care, ask questions, and stay connected to services.
Health care should never make someone feel like they have to leave part of themselves at the door.

This month and every month, let’s continue building spaces of care, dignity, and belonging.

June is Men’s Health Month, and it is a good reminder for our kāne to check in before something feels wrong.
Regular visits, screenings, blood pressure checks, diabetes care, cancer screenings, and honest conversations with a provider can make a real difference.
Taking care of your health is not weakness. It is kuleana. It is strength. It is how we stay present for our ʻohana, ourselves, and our community.

Be sure to check out for more information on kāne health.

Representation matters in health care.

AAPI Month reminds us why it is important for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities to be seen, heard, and served in ways that reflect our lived experiences.

Ke Ola Mamo continues to support community health through culturally grounded programs, outreach, education, and services that meet our people where they are.
Our communities deserve care that understands our history, honors our values, and strengthens the future of our community.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Our mental health affects how we rest, connect, communicate, make decisions, and care for ourselves and our ʻohana. It is part of our overall health and deserves the same attention, support, and compassion as our physical well-being.

Checking in with your mental health can start small: taking a breath, talking with someone you trust, asking for help, spending time outside, moving your body, or making space to rest.

At Ke Ola Mamo, we believe wellness includes the mind, body, spirit, ʻohana, and community. No one should have to carry everything alone.

Long weekends often bring our ʻohana together through food, beach days, gatherings, and time to rest.

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, it is also a good reminder to care for your health while enjoying time with family and community.

A few simple reminders:
Drink water throughout the day.
Use sun protection.
Make room for fruits and vegetables.
Check in with kūpuna.
Rest when your body needs it.
Drive safe and look out for one another.

Wellness can be practiced in the small choices we make while caring for ourselves and the people around us.
