Make-A-Wish Hawaii (MAWH) creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We seek to bring every eligible child’s wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child’s medical journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight their illness. Headquartered in Honolulu, MAWH is considered one of the top charities in the state, with every dollar raised in Hawaii staying in Hawaii to support local wishes. Our organization has been transforming lives, and uniting our Hawaii community in the process, for 40 years. One of the first local chapters established, MAWH continues to be among the busiest in the nation. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and more than 400 volunteers have granted more than 1,500 wishes for local keiki across the state of Hawaii since 1982 and have hosted more than 17,000 others for children around the world for wishes to visit our islands.

Our wish ‘ohana was proud to take part in this year’s Maui County Fair Parade! Wish families, volunteers and staff traveled the route, celebrating the hope and joy a wish brings.

A special mahalo to Goodfellow Bros for helping us roll through the parade in style, and to everyone along the route who waved, cheered and celebrated the power of a wish with us! 🌟

Eight-year-old Maliyah of Eleele is preparing for an out-of-this-world wish trip to explore Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World! Living with a gastrointestinal disorder, Maliyah and her family can look forward to time together filled with joy and adventure. 💙

Wish Granters Leigh, Shari and Tami made her wish reveal celebration at Kauai Island Brewery unforgettable with thoughtful surprises, including hand-stamped shell designs on pouches at each place setting, a handmade Princess Leia beanie and a photo journal filled with messages from loved ones during the party. Their creativity and care gave Maliyah and her family joyful memories to treasure long after her wish. 💫

Wish granted! 💫

After spending so much time away from home for treatment for lymphoma, 17-year-old Kenny of Honolulu wished for a room that felt completely his own—a peaceful place to rest, recharge and enjoy being a teenager.

Working alongside local designer Bev Tagami of WCIT Architecture, Kenny helped shape every detail of his new space, from anime-inspired décor and music displays to forest green accents, shelving and a gaming setup. Seal Masters of Hawaii completed the transformation by transporting, assembling and installing the pieces throughout his room. ✨

When Kenny stepped into his new room, it was everything he had dreamed of! His wish created a lasting retreat filled with the things that bring him comfort and joy.

Mahalo nui to Prince Waikiki for making Aspen’s wish reveal unforgettable! ✨

Aspen, an 18-year-old from Honolulu living with a nervous system disorder, has always dreamed of visiting Europe. Her wish to go to Italy reflects her love of travel, architecture and trying new foods, along with special family connections to the country’s beautiful coasts, delicious cuisine and rich culture.

To celebrate the big reveal, Aspen was welcomed by dozens of Prince Waikiki staff, family and friends before stepping into a special day inspired by the destination of her dreams.

Prince Waikiki hosted a private Italian-themed cooking class for Aspen and her closest friends, led by Executive Sous Chef Lenny Ushidate, who lived in Italy for eight years. Afterward, Aspen and her loved ones shared lunch in a private room, then enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in a cabana and time by the pool.

Grazie, Prince Waikiki—mahalo for your generous support to grant Aspen’s wish and for creating such a thoughtful, joy-filled celebration for her. We are deeply grateful for your longstanding partnership through the Prince Commitment, helping grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses across the state. 💙
