Through her continued advocacy and commitment to West Oʻahu’s families, Senator Rachele Lamosao has championed the advancement of the new East Kapolei Elementary School—marking a significant milestone for a community that continues to grow and evolve.
With the Senate’s approval of the state budget, her efforts have resulted in meaningful progress on this long-anticipated project. As more families put down roots in West Oʻahu, this work reflects a clear focus on creating the space, resources, and opportunities our keiki need to thrive, while also helping to address overcrowding at ʻEwa Elementary following recent redistricting.
Project plans are complete and moving through the permitting process with the City & County of Honolulu. This progress keeps the project on track as it advances toward construction, with a target opening in School Year 2029–2030.
Mahalo to Ways and Means Chair Donovan M. Dela Cruz and Vice Chair Sharon Y. Moriwaki for their partnership and shared commitment to strengthening our communities.
Together, this work reflects a continued focus on building for the future and ensuring West Oʻahu’s keiki are supported for generations to come.
