Moiliili Community Center Dirt trails connected wooden frame houses, burning wood heated the water for the furo.

A rich heritage at the turn of the century... a marsh-land of ponds, lotus farms, and rice fields, small shops and businesses and the stone quarry...

Queen Kamamalu and her court enjoyed summers swimming in the Kapaakea springs. A manapua man carried his wares in baskets from a bamboo pole on his back. The food, customs, and religions of homelands prevailed and the common interests of many for their neighborhood became molded into a strong, active, and closely knit community.
