Molokai Heritage Trust is seeking a relationship-centered and community-minded team member to help build meaningful relationships with Molokaʻi families, cultural practitioners, partners, donors, agencies, educational institutions, and supporters.

This role includes community engagement, cultural relations, strategic partnerships, donor and funder relations, public affairs support, communications, storytelling, and event coordination.

📍 Molokaʻi, Hawaiʻi
🏢 In-person, with limited remote flexibility as approved
💵 $48,000–$53,760 annually, depending on experience

Mahalo nui loa to everyone who joined us—both in person and online—for the Molokai Heritage Trust 2025 Annual Membership Meeting this past Saturday! 🌺

We opened the day with sweet leo nahenahe from Uncle Raymond Hiro (MHT Board of Director), Uncle Pat Hiro, and Keaka Kaiama, filling the space with music while the info booths were in full swing. Huge mahalo to our talented musicians for setting the tone. 🎶

Next came the business portion, where we reviewed our Annual Report and voted on bylaw amendments.

Our guest speaker, Kaina Makua, shared his inspiring perspective on what “ʻāina is no small legacy” means to him. 🌱

Then it was time for the highlight of the day—the long-awaited Jun Ken Po showdown! Kaina Makua (aka Kamehameha) went head-to-head with Otto Joao Jr (aka Mr. Onoono Scoops). After a decade-long hiatus, Kaina reminded us why the cousins come out with their coolers—securing victory in the first annual MHT Jun Ken Po match! 🥇 Next year, Molokaʻi is ready for redemption—but if Kamehameha wants to send the challenge to Kaʻiana, we gladly accept. 😉

We closed with election results:
✨ Congratulations to continuing Board of Directors Hanohano Naehu and Hawaiʻiloa Mowat, and a warm welcome to our newest Director, Josh Pastrana!

We’ve got an updated location for our Molokai Heritage Trust Open Door Community Day!

🗓 December 14
⏰ 8 AM – 8 PM

🎉 It’s a full day of community, connection, and aloha! Come and talk story, share ideas, and help us build a future worthy of our ancestors and mo’opuna.

🌈 Keiki activities start after 12 PM, so bring the whole ʻohana!

🍳 We’ll provide breakfast and lunch, and we’ll end the day with a potluck dinner during our Annual Membership Meeting. The Trust will provide rice, plates, utensils, and water—please bring a dish to share!

A detailed schedule will be posted soon, but feel free to drop in at any time. Your voice matters, and we can’t wait to see you there! 💖

Join us for our Annual Membership Meeting on December 14 from 6 PM to 8 PM! 🎉

This is a chance for us to come together as one ʻohana. It’ll be potluck so please bring a dish to share—rice, drinks, plates, and utensils will be provided and fill out the survey so we have an accurate count for meal.

We’ll also hold a special election for board positions. If you’re passionate about Moloka’i, our community, and want to take on more kuleana with the Trust, we’d love to hear from you!

Aloha, Molokai Heritage Trust Members and Community!

Join us for the Molokai Heritage Trust Open Door Community Day on December 14 from 8 AM to 8 PM! 🎉 It’s a full day dedicated to community engagement, sharing, and connection. We invite you to stop by, talk story, and help shape our efforts to perpetuate our aloha for Molokai.

🌈 Activities for keiki will kick off after 12 PM, so bring the whole ʻohana!

We’ll provide breakfast and lunch, and we’ll wrap up the day with a potluck dinner during our Annual Membership Meeting. The Trust will take care of rice, plates, utensils, and water—just bring your favorite dish to share!

A detailed schedule will be shared closer to the date, but feel free to come and go as your schedule allows. Your voice is essential to shaping our future!
