With many veterans among our pilot group, we carry their legacy with deep pride and gratitude.

Today, and every day, we honor and remember.

Hawaiian Airlines pilots extend our deepest sympathies to the employees of Spirit Airlines, as it discontinued operations today after 33 years of service. We are devastated by the impact this will have on thousands of Spirit employees and their families, including 2,000 of our fellow ALPA pilots.

To help assist our industry colleagues through this difficult period, the Hawaiian MEC today approved a resolution urging management to offer priority consideration to former Spirit Airlines pilot applicants, along with expedited placement in future new hire classes.

Alaska & Hawaiian Airlines will also be providing extended travel privileges to affected pilots and flight attendants over the coming weeks, to help ensure our peers are able to make it home smoothly.

Hawaiian pilots stand in solidarity with our colleagues at Spirit and will do our best to provide support in whatever way we can.

John Crabbe was elected as Vice Chair and Capt. Mathias Lundblad was re-elected as Secretary-Treasurer. Capt. The MEC Representatives thank all who volunteered to serve and recognize the time, effort, and sacrifice required to give back to our pilot group.

The Alaska and Hawaiian Master Executive Councils recently hosted coffee sits in Seattle and parking lot sits in Honolulu to share updates on joint collective bargaining agreement negotiations and hear directly from line pilots. Thank you to everyone who attended, asked questions, and shared input.

Negotiations have been underway for over a year, and while significant progress has been made, the pace has slowed as final items remain unresolved. Union representatives and other volunteers will continue providing opportunities for pilots to connect with their union and stay informed as we reach this critical stage in negotiations.
