Hawaiian Community Assets We offer financial education, grants and loans to assist our local people build genuine wealth that can be shared and passed on to future generations.

HCA implements a comprehensive housing counseling plan that provides individuals and families the tools they need to secure and sustain permanent housing. Counseling sessions are complimented by a variety of services and products that not only build qualified renters and homebuyers, but also assists them in establishing the long-term habits necessary to sustain permanent housing.

For years, Aysia Kahoʻohanohano and her ʻohana earned too much to qualify for certain assistance, but couldn’t afford the home they needed. When an opportunity at Puʻuhona came along, she almost didn’t apply.

Taking that step connected her with support. HCA Housing Specialist Camijei Hiro helped her build a realistic budget and a plan to prepare for homeownership. A NAHASDA mortgage, debt consolidation support from Hawaiian Community Lending, and OHA Match Savings also helped make their purchase possible.

In August 2025, the ʻohana received their keys. For Aysia, home means knowing her children will always have a place to return to.
