Woo hoo! 🌟🎉AMA Hawaii brought home multiple Chapter of Excellence Awards from the AMA Las Vegas Regional Retreat late last year, including the awards for Membership Excellence, Leadership Special Merit, Communications Special Merit and Community Outreach Special Merit. President-Elect Kirstin Tran and Secretary Amy Kelly were there to represent Hawaii and connect with our sister chapters. Congratulations to the 2022-2023 board and members! Intersectionality is a term that’s being used more and more, but what does it mean, and why should you care? Intersectionality describes a system where inequality based on race, gender, gender identity, disability and other forms of discrimination “intersect” to create unique dynamics and compounded experiences.

AMA has partnered with the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation to host a special Rainbow Town Hall panel event. Professionals across different industries will share why intersectionality is important in their field and how it’s affected their marketing efforts.
