Big congratulations from PRP to all 21 students who just graduated from the Hawaii Carpenters’ Construction Internship Program! 👏🏽🎓

These future union carpenters spent six weeks gaining real skills and experience in the trades. What an amazing accomplishment!

The Career Connections construction program is open to juniors and seniors in high school and is a great way to get a head start in a stable, rewarding career as a union carpenter.

Way to go, graduates — Hawaii’s building industry is brighter because of you!

Great news for Hawai‘i’s construction industry!

June’s employment report shows +300 construction jobs added last month, helping push total nonfarm jobs up by 3,300 compared to last year.

Statewide unemployment sits at a low 2.6% — much better than the national average.

Local builders and tradespeople are busy — a big win for our economy!

From Ewa Beach to building Hawai‘i’s future — meet Sydney Patanapaiboon.

At just 22, this Campbell High School graduate is only months away from becoming a full journey-level union carpenter. She started the Hawai'i Carpenters Union apprenticeship after her wood shop teacher showed her the path. Four years later, she’s skilled in framing, concrete work, and finish carpentry — and she’s been earning a paycheck the whole time instead of racking up debt.

Because of this opportunity, Sydney says goals like buying a home in Hawai‘i no longer feel impossible. The wages, benefits, healthcare, and pension give her real stability and the chance to build a life here without having to leave the islands.

Her story is proof that there are solid, rewarding careers right here at home for young people who like working with their hands and want to stay in their community.

From dismantling to dreams becoming reality 💪🏽

We’re proud to share this powerful video of the old Aloha Stadium being dismantled alongside stunning new renderings of the future Aloha Stadium Entertainment District.

PRP extends a huge congratulations to the Aloha Stadium Team, Aloha Halawa District Partners (AHDC), and the State of Hawaiʻi for their continued progress toward a shared vision: Celebrating Hawaiʻi’s Culture and Building Hawaiʻi’s Future.

This project means:
• 12,000 construction jobs
• 700 permanent jobs
• 4,500 units of new housing
• A new gathering place for Hawaiʻi’s people

🌊Kailua is getting major infrastructure upgrades!

This week we celebrated the groundbreaking of two important projects at the Kailua Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant totaling over $85 million. These investments will protect public health, keep our beaches clean, and ensure reliable wastewater treatment for Kailua and Kāneʻohe for decades to come.

Congratulations to:

• Nan, Inc. – building the new Dewatering Building

• Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company – rehabilitating the Biotowers

Both contractors employ union carpenters and apprentices who are helping deliver high-quality work for our community.

Construction will be limited to respectful hours so we can minimize impacts on our ʻAikahi neighbors.

Mahalo to Mayor Rick Blangiardi, Councilmember Esther Kiaʻāina, Director Roger Babcock, and all the construction partners making this possible.
