Kalihi YMCA The Y: We're for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. I wanted to share some exciting news. March 2017

The YMCA of Honolulu has been recognized for its good work. Charity Navigator is America's premier charity evaluator. Once again, they have awarded our Y a 4 star rating, the highest rating a non profit can receive for its "sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency." As a coveted 4 star organization, we belong to the top quarter of all charities in the country. Of the thousands of charities in Hawaii, we are only one of ten to receive a 4 star rating this year. This is the third year in a row that we have received a 4 star -evaluation, which puts us with only 15% of all charities nationally. What means the most to us about this recognition is that it is further evidence that the Y is changing, and in some instances saving, lives. This type of honor would not be possible without the terrific work each of you do every day. A sincere mahalo for your commitment and passion.
