Recently, we had a wonderful story of the music therapy journey shared with us. 💓

"We have an athlete on our Special Olympics team who was quite typical until a devastating ski accident left the doctors convinced he would not survive, and that if he did it would be with very little brain activity. Long story short, before he began responding to anything, his parents brought in a music therapist who would sing and play to him. Eventually he began tapping his fingers in rhythm. And much later, he used a picture board to ask his therapist to " Help me find my voice," and over many months the therapist did just that. Today, you would never believe the young man struggled so much; he appears to be a friendly, capable young man. The family made a documentary of his ordeal. "Music Got Me Here" is streaming in a few places--it can be rented or bought on Amazon Prime."

A story about the power of music to heal and transform lives, often in miraculous ways.

Our donation-based community events are back! 💓

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations we receive directly support our operating costs, financial assistance for clients, and our continued efforts to make music therapy services accessible to our community. We deeply appreciate your generosity and support.

With federal and state funding becoming increasingly limited, we are placing a greater focus on private donations and community support. Every contribution, big or small, helps us continue providing meaningful services to those who need them.

We are also working toward gaining state recognition for music therapy in the upcoming year, with the hope that our services can eventually become eligible for insurance coverage and reach even more people.

Thank you so much for continuing to support our mission and our community. 💓

BIG NEWS HAWAII!

This past Friday, the HANAI Memory Network bill passed out of conference, a historic win for our state and the Alzheimer's Association!

This means expanded access to early detection, coordinated care, and support services, especially for our neighbor island, rural communities. It brings us closer to a future where no family has to face Alzheimer’s alone.

Mahalo to our incredible advocates, to Coby Chock, our Public Policy and Advocacy Director, and to our champion legislators who made this possible.

This is progress. This is hope. This is how we ENDALZ!
