Our hearts are with all those impacted by the recent flooding across Hawaiʻi.

In times like these, we are reminded of the strength of our lāhui and the power of coming together to care for one another. The Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association stands in support of our communities, our ʻohana, and all who are in need during this time.

If you are able, we invite you to join us in providing kōkua. Use the link below to make a donation and help support flood relief efforts happening statewide.

This opportunity focuses on elements of Regenerative Tourism to grow small business capacity and explore how Native Hawaiian values, cultural practices, and worldviews are central to shaping regenerative approaches to tourism, positioning culture as a driving force for meaningful change in Hawaiʻi.

NaHHA is proud to grow our programming in these areas as we continue to serve the Native Hawaiian community. Mahalo nui INPEACE for your continued partnership and support!

🌕 He Poūli, He Mahina: Witness a Total Lunar Eclipse in Hawaiʻi 🌑

Join us for an unforgettable evening under the stars as we gather to witness a rare Total Lunar Eclipse on March 13th!

The Hawaiian word "Poūli" means "eclipse", and "Ka Mahina" refers to "the moon" — and this special night offers a chance to explore both through the lens of Hawaiian knowledge and modern science.

🔭 What to Expect:
✨ Discover what this celestial event meant to Native Hawaiians in both traditional and modern times.
✨ Observe the eclipse through telescopes with guidance from local astronomers.
✨ Hear captivating moʻolelo (stories) about the moon and learn to identify key constellations and planets lighting up the night sky.

🌅 Best Viewing Tips:
The eclipse will be visible across all islands, especially in the south and southeastern skies. For the best view, find a spot near sea level away from bright city lights.

🕡 Event Timeline:
🔸 The eclipse begins around 6:30 PM
🔸 The moon will reach full coverage just before 9:00 PM

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to connect with the sky, the stars, and the stories of our ancestors. Bring your ʻohana, bundle up, and join us for this magical night under the moonlight!

We’ll see you there! 🌌

Join us for “Wahi Pana O Keauhou - Understanding Our Home Module” on March 17, 2025 at 2:30PM - 3:30PM HST on Zoom.

The area of Keauhou in Kona is the birthplace and training ground of royalty, the site of battles that changed the course of history, and a place where pivotal decisions were made to preserve our natural and cultural heritage for the future.

Keauhou. Hōlua. Kauikeaouli. Hāpaialiʻi. What do these names have to do with Hawaiʻi Island? In this one hour session, we will take you on a huakaʻi (journey) around the cultural sites of Keauhou, Hawaiʻi Island where we will learn the cultural stories and history of some of the most beloved, visited, and sometimes misrepresented wahi pana (storied places).

Join us for “ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi: Introduction to the Hawaiian Language” on March 12, 2025 at 10:00AM - 11:30AM HST on Zoom.

Language is a tool and a lens through which we can learn, interpret, and activate culture. Examine the rich history of the Hawaiian language and put the basics into practice using the pīʻapā (the Hawaiian alphabet) and tools such as the hakalama pronunciation drills. Normalizing the use of the Hawaiian language is a key component to creating authentic engagement experiences with our visitors and guests.
