May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, which recognizes the cultural influence and historical contributions of the AANHPI community.

Last year, HEI Foundation was a proud supporter of Waianae Economic Development Council-WEDC's E Mau Ke A'o program. By bridging Western business with the rich values of Kanaka Maoli, this initiative created a supportive space for cultural practitioners to build sustainable revenue streams while preserving Hawaiian culture.

Make sure to follow Waianae Economic Development Council-WEDC for more business and professional development opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

Did you know that 1,500 Japanese Americans were forcibly removed from their homes in Hawaii, but not interned, during World War II? Their relatively unknown experiences have been memorialized in JACL Honolulu's one-hour documentary, "Removed By Force: The Eviction of Hawaii's Japanese Americans During WWII."

HEI Foundation is a proud sponsor of "Removed By Force," which airs this Sunday at 9 PM on KHNL.
