For the first time ever at SEIU Healthcare’s Human Rights Conference, we hosted a Cultural Fashion Show. 💜

Seeing our API members proudly wear their traditional cultural attire was a beautiful celebration of identity, heritage, and the diversity that makes our union stronger. ✨

✊When gig workers form their union, we all win.

🫰🏻API leaders are participating in the SEIU Capacity Center’s Gig La Brigada to continue organizing, facilitation and leadership skills development.

🗳️As part of a nationwide effort to grow our gig union, they are signing up Uber and Lyft drivers with and and connecting with drivers in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Pashto, and Tibetan.

🤲🏼Together, we’re building a nationwide movement that puts power in the hands of gig workers.

💪🏼Sharpened our organizing skills and ready to grow our union.

API leaders from Canada and the US joined together with our union siblings in the SEIU Capacity Center’s La Brigada member organizer program. ✨

With great sadness, we share the passing of Elisa “Elsa” Maesa, a dedicated steward, EVS worker at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, proud Filipina, and valued SEIU Healthcare member and API Caucus Leader.

Elsa was a strong advocate for her coworkers and a compassionate leader who embodied the spirit of solidarity. Her kindness, dedication, and commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends, coworkers, and loved ones. May she rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us all. 💜

Our Pacific Northwest Region is always a family affair.

Locals 6, 775, 925 and 1199NW came together to celebrate Heritage month, and held a special memoriam for our caucus and PNW leader, Michael Guzman.

So much love goes out to Mikey’s family, Local 6 API leaders and Local 6 Deputy Director Greg Ramirez for helping us to continue to honor Mikey’s legacy. 💙
