We are seeking a PT Grant Writer and Development Specialist (20 hours per week) who will help raise funds and support our efforts to meet our goals. This position will work from home with weekly team meetings via phone and in person with our Hawaii staff. This is an Oahu based position.

Primary Duties:

Create and oversee the multi-year fundraising strategy
Research, write, and report on local and national foundation, corporate, and government grants
Maintain grant application and reporting calendar
Prepare and submit grant financial documents
Work with Executive team to set and meet annual fundraising goals
Oversee campaigns for donor development and membership drive
Manage fundraising events
Introduce executive team to key people at foundations and other funding sources
Build and maintain funder relationships on behalf of TEF
Work with our communications specialists on PR materials
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent nonprofit experience
5+ years researching, writing and securing grants for projects and organizations
5+ years preparing grant financial documents for proposals and reports
Proven track record securing $400,000+ per year
Familiarity with foundation, government, and corporate supporters, especially in Hawaii
Demonstrated experience with outcomes-based fundraising and reporting
Experience tracking grant deadlines, deliverables, and reports
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Strong and established network in non-profit fundraising.
Advanced capabilities using MS Office and Google Drive
Strong record keeping and attention to detail
Experience taking initiative and working successfully with a team
Experience in community organizing and project management is a plus
Arts education, public art, and community building experience highly desired
Interest in and agreement with TEF’s Mission, Points of Unity, and Company Values (www.estria.org)

This is a 20 hours per week position. At times, the job will require more. We are considering both salaried and contract positions. 3 and 6-month reviews will be conducted. This position reports to the Executive Director and the Office Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following. We understand most people will not have experience planning murals. We will train you in our processes and tools. We are seeking someone who is solid in project management, is detail oriented, and not afraid to initiate and build new relationships with a foundation of aloha.

Coordinate logistics for all Mele Murals workshops and events
Create and manage Fundraising Events
Use our project management software. Track progress and maintaining program calendars for multiple mural workshops
Communicate program updates with the Executive Director weekly
Participate in staff meetings, program meetings and committee meetings
Prepare and deliver project updates on a regular basis
Coordinate press materials with press relations and/or contractors
Coordinate documentation teams to capture the mural making process with photography and videography
Oversee the preparation and ex*****on of contracts with vendors
Identify partners and cultivate partnerships with:
Schools
Corporate sponsors
Wall owners (mural sites)
Community organizations
Ali’I trusts and foundations
Vendors (artists, equipment rental companies, documentarians, contractors)
Coordinate travel arrangements
Purchase supplies and maintain inventory
Support and promote our donor and membership drives
Update our donor database
Fiscal responsibilities include managing project budgets, maintaining records of spending, collecting receipts, preparing funding requests, and turning all documents in on-time. Budget decisions are to be carried out as intended and prudent financial practices are to be followed
Assist in grant and financial reporting
Develop and document all processes so they can be replicated
Support our day to day operations and evaluate our priorities and progress
Support the formation of mural clubs at each school
Represent The Estria Foundation and its programs publicly in a professional manner that aligns with our mission
Engage in public and networking activities for the purpose of organizational support development, recruitment, and media relations
Other duties may be assigned, but to be discussed upon interview.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrate solid professional and personal ethics: respect, honesty, dependability, integrity and aloha
3+ years experience planning events
Team player and can work independently
Highly organized, detailed oriented and deadline driven
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to project manage multiple projects simultaneously during fast paced timelines
Ability to maintain organized administrative and programmatic records
Excellent leadership, administrative, and program management skills: including the ability to motivate and inspire others; and make timely decisions to successfully manage resources and priorities
Ability to create and manage budgets
Ability to initiate, build and maintain relationships.
Strong people skills
Must be able to communicate, interact, and lead large student youth groups

Desired Qualifications:

Experience working with DOE system and standards
Experience working with Special Education Students
Experience with murals highly preferred
Extensive network of contacts
Understanding of Hawaiian history, culture, traditions and values
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
A love for public art and interaction with Hawaiiʻs youth
Extensive experience using icloud-based working environment (Google Suite, Calendars, Drop Box, iCloud)
Able to publicly speak and promote our mural programʻs accomplishments and goals for Hawaii newspaper and television media and TEF fundraising events
The Mural and Events Coordinator reports directly to TEF’s Executive Director and Operations Manager, and is responsible for the consistent achievement of TEF’s mission and vision.

Compensation: competitive wage that is commensurate with experience and skills, includes generous benefits package of healthcare, dental, and vision.
