Governor George Ariyoshi will be honored at the Pacific Buddhist Academy's annual awards banquet Friday night. The "Lighting Our Way" event recognizes individuals and organizations who are exemplifying the leadership values of the Pacific Buddhist Academy in the community.

Fun Facts: Amy Perruso was named Outstanding History Day Teacher 2009. She was also named Hawaii's Teacher of the Year in 2007. As Teacher of the Year, she won a $10,000 grant for Mililani High School. Great job!

Wal-Mart today announced that Amy Perruso, a social studies teacher at Mililani High School, has been named Teacher of the Year in Hawaii in the 12th annual Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club State Teacher of the Year program.
