After-School All-Stars Hawaii

ASAS Hawaii provides free, comprehensive after-school programs for middle and intermediate students from underserved communities in Hawaii.

Having a place to go after school keeps children safe and helps them succeed in school and life. After-School All-Stars launched a Hawaii chapter in 2009. There is a need for structured after-school programming in public middle schools in the state of Hawaii. We are thrilled to bring our comprehensive after-school programs to those schools whose students can benefit from high-quality and fun programming including academics, enrichment and health/fitness activities.

🤝 Meaningful partnerships create meaningful opportunities.

Recently, All-Stars had the opportunity to visit , where they received a behind-the-scenes look at restaurant operations and learned about the many roles that contribute to a successful dining experience. From hospitality and customer service to culinary arts and business operations, students gained valuable insight into potential career pathways while seeing teamwork in action.

Experiences like these help students connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities and inspire them to explore their future possibilities.

Whether it's cheering from the sidelines, helping with homework, offering encouragement, or simply being there when it matters most, the positive influence of caring adults makes a lasting difference in a child's life.

💙 Today, we're celebrating a very special member of our After-School All-Stars Hawaii ʻohana!

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Noa on graduating from high school! 🎓✨

Mr. Noa's journey with After-School All-Stars Hawaii began as a middle school All-Star at Kalākaua Middle School. Over the years, he continued to give back to the program that helped shape him, first as a volunteer and then as a Program Leader, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of All-Stars.

The students' heartfelt farewell celebration is a reflection of the positive impact he has made through his leadership, kindness, and dedication. Mr. Noa has shown our students what it means to lead by example, work hard, and invest in others.

We are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished and excited for his next chapter as he continues his education at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. 🌈

Congratulations, Mr. Noa! Thank you for being a shining example of what's possible when All-Stars become leaders. Your ASAS Hawaii ʻohana is cheering you on every step of the way. 🎉

🌟 Students learn best when they can connect classroom lessons to real-world experiences.

From meeting professionals and conducting mock interviews, to exploring future career pathways, All-Stars on Hawaiʻi Island and Oʻahu attended a Career Fair where they gained valuable exposure to opportunities that help them dream big and plan for their futures.

Burns School of Medicine, the Big Island Substance Abuse Council, Compass Realty, County of Hawaii Department of Environmental Management – Wastewater Division and Solid Waste Division, HFS Federal Credit Union, Job Corps, Kapiolani Community College, Leeward Community College, Liliuokalani Trust, University of Hawaii at Hilo Admissions, Jack Kim who did a presentation on financial literacy, High School and Collegiate Sports representatives, Journeyman Kimiko Santana, Steven Tucker of Fitness Forever, and Anton Tucker of Tukky’s Famous Wings.🧡

Students asked questions of panelists and learned about different industries.
