The principal cast of Kamalehua: the Sheltering Tree visited Punahou School to speak to the students. It was an HYOC alumni reunion between Quinn Kelsey singing the title role, and his sister Blythe Kelsey, who is singing the role of Ali’i Kekauluohi, and our alumni Mia Porecca, Lauren Chang Williams and Joanna Takagi Habermann and who are on the music faculty. All who as students, started their growth and began building their skills as musicians while singing in HYOC. We couldn’t be prouder of the amazing musicians, performers, Kumu, teachers, and friends they have become. Inspiring and molding the next generation. Don’t miss the world premiere May 1, 3 & 5 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

A day to remember 🌺✨

The grand finale of the 30th Annual E Mele Kākou Children’s Choral Festival brought voices together in a powerful performance of Dona Nobis Pacem, a timeless call for peace that resonated far beyond the stage.

We are especially proud to celebrate festival conductor Mia Porreca, our very own HYOC alum, who continues to inspire the next generation as a dedicated Punahou teacher and choral leader. 💛

Moments like these remind us why music matters: it connects, uplifts, and builds community that lasts far beyond the final note.
