From recipe contest to real-world business 🌱✨

At the 2026 YEP Marketplace held at the KCC Farmers’ Market, standout student entrepreneurs included past HAF Localicious® Recipe Contest finalists — Saige (Hawaiʻi Tech Waipahu), Kalewa (Hawaiʻi Tech Lahaina), and Halia (Kalani High School) — showing just how far their ideas (and hustle) have grown.

Saige served up a bold Paradise Pesto with macadamia nuts, Kalewa showcased his Hawaiʻi Bakehouse banana muffins, and Halia—last year’s winner Localicious® Recipe Contest — helped launch ʻUlu Cookie Co., even teaming up with Kenny Boy Ice Cream on a special ʻulu cookie ice cream.

It was great to see these students continuing to grow their skills — and turning local ingredients into something bigger 🌺

⏰ EAT THINK DRINK — Early Bird pricing ends TODAY!

Hawaiʻi consumes more seafood per person than almost anywhere in the country — yet most of what we eat is imported. Meanwhile, local fishermen face rising costs, changing ocean conditions, and pressure on wild fish stocks.

So we must ask: How do we responsibly grow aquaculture in Hawaiʻi so it feeds local people first — while protecting our ocean and benefiting our communities?

Join the Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation for an evening of bold conversation, chef-curated cuisine, and solutions-focused dialogue on the future of ocean-grown food in Hawaiʻi.

Mahalo to everyone who has stepped up to support Hawaiʻi’s farmers.

In the wake of the recent Kona Low storms, our community has come together in a powerful way. Through a joint effort between the Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation and the Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau, we’re already seeing the impact of people helping farmers recover and rebuild.

But the need continues.

Many farmers are still facing significant losses—and every contribution helps them restore their operations and continue feeding our islands.

If you’re able, we invite you to join this community effort!

👉 Stand with Hawaiʻi’s Farmers (see link in bio to donate)

Please consider sharing to help us reach more people across our islands.

Together, we can support our farmers—and strengthen Hawaiʻi’s food future. 🌱

Hawaiʻi’s farms have been hit hard by recent storms.

Severe flooding from the recent Kona Low storms has damaged crops, flooded fields, and disrupted the livelihoods of local farmers across Hawaiʻi. These are the same farmers who nourish our communities every day.

They need our support.

The Hawaiʻi Farmers’ Disaster Relief Fund, launched by the Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation and the Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau Federation, will support impacted farmers — helping them recover, rebuild, and continue feeding our islands.
Join us in supporting our farming community. Every contribution makes a difference.
