Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is an ecumenical Christian ministry that works to e
liminate poverty housing and homelessness around the world. People of all backgrounds, races, and faiths are invited to work in partnership with families in need to create affordable housing. To date, over 600,000 houses have been built, repaired, or refurbished, providing simple, decent shelter to more than 3 million people worldwide. In the United States, HFHI is one of the most successful homeownership programs for low-income families, with its housing production placing it among the nation’s top 20 homebuilders.
