RMHC-HI has two Houses, offering a home-away-from-home for families with seriously ill children getting medical treatment nearby. Many families fly to Oahu for treatments not available where they live. For many, an ocean literally separates them from their child’s desperately needed attention. This includes Hawaii’s Neighbor Islands, and other Pacific locales such as Guam, Saipan, Samoa and the Federated States of Micronesia. Lengths of stay vary widely at the overnight facilities depending on diagnosis but generally range from several days to several months. The overnight facilities strive to foster emotional, spiritual, and mental support to all who live within.

Growing up, Josh was diagnosed with a rare cardiac condition that led to four open-heart surgeries and countless follow-up procedures and tests.
During that time, the Ronald McDonald House provided his family a home away from home.
Now, he's paying it forward, giving back to the organization that gave so much to him.

A look back at McDonald’s People Week across HawaiÊ»i. ❀

We loved getting out into the community, visiting McDonald’s teams, and celebrating the people who help make Round Up possible.

Every time a customer chooses to Round Up their order, those small donations help support families staying with Ronald McDonald House Charities Hawaiʻi while their child receives medical care.

Come along with us for People Week at McDonald’s! ❀

We spent the week visiting local McDonald’s restaurants across Hawaiʻi, meeting team members and talking about the impact of Round Up.

Every time someone chooses to Round Up their order, those extra few cents are donated to Ronald McDonald House Hawaiʻi. Together, those donations help support families staying with us while their child receives medical care on Oʻahu.

Mahalo to Ronald McDonald House Greater Houston for your incredible hospitality! ❀

We wholeheartedly enjoyed the RMH Southwest Summit, where more than 150 colleagues from chapters across the country came together to connect, learn, grow, and collaborate.

It was such a fun and meaningful opportunity to share ideas, build relationships, and continue learning from one another as we all work toward the same goal: serving more families, even better.

And of course, we had to share one fun Houston find check out the McDonald’s near NASA Space Center! 🍟🚀 So cool!

We’re grateful for the experience and excited to bring new ideas and inspiration back home!

We’re looking for a few Halloween favorites to help make the season special for the families staying with us, along with everyday essentials that help keep the House comfortable and stocked.

From festive decorations and inflatables to laundry detergent, toilet paper, and paper towels, every donation helps create a welcoming home away from home for families staying close to their child’s medical care. 🧡

For Aloha United Way’s Day of Caring, our team spent the day volunteering with Guide Dogs of Hawaii and supporting the work they do in our community.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to step outside our own House, lend a hand, and support another local organization.

From deep cleaning and seasonal decorating to preparing a spaghetti meal for families, every helping hand brought a little more comfort and care to the House.
