Over the decades, with increasing pressure on Oahu’s wily bonefish population, we have found many bonefish have become quite picky about flies they will eat. This pattern was created by my son, former guide extraordinaire, Captain Joaquin.
Hook is # 10 Ahrex NS110
Body dubbed tan Wapsi Crawdub
Eyes are x-small double pupil lead eyes
Wing is tan or brown Arctic Fox hair
They eat this one!!

I caught this wild brown trout, and 8 others, not in NZ, but from a remote nameless stream in Nevada, all on my NZ Cicada Dry Fly!
