TBT: To the awesome Earth Day event FECH co-sponsored with UH Manoa’s College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources and the Home Garden Network in 2023. Participants learned how to build a worm bin, start a home garden of pea shoots (microgreens), try delicious potatoes heated by a solar-powered oven and plant-based desserts, complete a nature scavenger hunt and so much more.

FECH is a proud advocate for sustainability through our youth and family programs. Families learn sustainable ways to garden and increase their food security; youth from the pre-school through high school years are taught the value of and skills in sustainable agriculture, making them the next generation of conscious caretakers of our planet.

In celebration of our earth today and always, may we always remember that we are lifelong stewards of our aina.

“Mālama i ka ʻāina, a mālama ka ʻāina iā ʻoe.”
