Why I Walk ❤️

I walk for Travis, but I also walk because I’m a victim too.

I survived an impaired-driving crash that could have easily taken my life. I was given a second chance that not everyone gets, and I don’t want to waste it. I can’t change what happened to us, but I can choose what I do with the life I was fortunate enough to keep.

That’s why I’m walking toward something bigger: a future with no more impaired driving.

I walk for the people we’ve lost. I walk for survivors. I walk for the families and friends who carry the consequences of one decision for the rest of their lives. And I walk because these crashes are preventable.

But you don’t have to be a victim or survivor to have a reason to walk.

Walk for yourself. Walk for someone you know. Walk in memory of someone you’ve lost. Walk for someone who survived. Or simply walk because you believe no other family should have to experience this.

I’m asking my friends, family, and anyone who believes in this mission to join me for Move With MADD Hawaii. Even if you aren’t in Hawaii, you can register and participate virtually from wherever you are.

Join Team Townsend, find your reason, and be part of the movement.

I got a second chance. I’m using mine to walk toward a world with no more impaired driving.
