3. Please stay with your youngest child throughout the event; we will rotate through stations and it will be dark at meeting's end.
4. Most Scouts have earned Adventure Awards! Awards will be distributed by Den Leaders. They may hold the awards until next Den Meeting for a better recognition opportunity. Reminder: Only Scouts who are currently registered and have completed Adventure requirements will receive awards.

Again - we are NOT at the Chapel tomorrow night! Map Diagram below.

If you’re membership is up for renewal, Nationals is transitioning in to immediate drops past your renewal deadline! Don’t miss out on getting your awards; renew today!!!

📢 Scouting America Membership Renewal Changes Coming (2026–2028)

Scouting America is transitioning all unit and member renewals to a February renewal cycle to simplify the membership process and better align with recruiting season.

Key highlights:

✅ Unit renewals begin transitioning in September 2026.
✅ Individual member renewals transition throughout 2027 using prorated fees.
✅ By February 2028, all units and members will renew on the same annual February schedule.

The new system will create one consistent renewal season, reduce barriers for new members with prorated fees, eliminate the 2-month lapse period, align Safeguarding Youth Training with renewal dates, and give unit leaders more control over the renewal process.

The goal is to improve retention, make renewals easier, and strengthen membership growth across Scouting.

Stay tuned for more details as the transition rolls out!

Way to go, Pack 297!

🎉 The Komohana District 5+ Club is officially open!

Fall recruitment is rolling, and our units are doing an incredible job welcoming new families into Scouting! As of September 14, seven Komohana Cub Scout packs have already welcomed 5 or more new Scouts this fall!

A HUGE mahalo to the leaders, families, and volunteers making this happen. Every recruitment event, school night, flyer, invitation to a friend, follow-up phone call, and conversation with a new family makes a difference.

And a special shout-out to Troop 797, already welcoming 4 new Scouts this fall and knocking on the door of the 5+ Club!

Keep recruiting. Keep inviting. Keep sharing the adventure. 💚

Who will be next to join the Komohana District 5+ Club?

09/11/2026

For 25 years, Scouts have continued to honor September 11 through remembrance and service. Helping other people isn’t just something Scouts do. It’s part of who we are.

On the eve of 9/11, we challenge all - past and present - to serve in honor of the fallen heroes: https://ow.ly/Qs2v50ZMpBu.

Aloha Cub Scout families,

LESS THAN 48 HOURS!! Our next Pack Meeting is Thursday, 10 September, at 6-7pm. For Pack Meetings, please have your Scout wear Class A uniform if they have it. Otherwise, our blue Pack T-shirt suffices.

Normally at Pack Meetings, we will do an opening ceremony, an activity, and award ceremony.

No awards this week, but we have the always-fun "Recycled Raingutter Regatta."

I ask three things in preparation for this event:

1. Please arrive early or on-time so that we can start opening ceremony at 6:00pm and allow every scout a chance to race multiple times. Scouts will race in their Dens first, and the top competitors from each Den will race in the Pack finals.

2. Please check your Scout's sailboat and help them to ensure it meets the attached requirements. Scouts will propel their own boat by blowing through a straw, so the boat needs some kind of sail. I recommend using plastic/aluminum rather than paper. Boat too big? It won't fit in the race lanes. Boat doesn't float independently? You'll have a sunk boat and a sad scout.

3. Prepare your Scout psychologically for the inevitability that they will not win. Emphasize the objectives:
Practice perseverance and problem-solving (Scout Motto: "Do Your Best") and
Good Sportsmanship ("A Scout is Friendly, Courteous, and Cheerful").

We will practice this all again at the Pinewood Derby competition in January.

Thank you to Patrick Anderson for helping prep this event and the few volunteers helping with set-up/clean-up!

Send questions.

Yours in Scouting,
Nick Coronato
