Did quietly cancel ?
Well, it looks like….sorta, maybe!
According to this finance committee meeting in May, UC is only budgeting 2 million for “termination and liability.” They are apparently planning to resume their efforts in the (note: we do NOT approve of monster telescopes on ANYONE’s lands), and promise an update “late summer.”

Note: IG cut the video at 1 minute, but this convo was followed by Nathan Brostrom, CFO of UC (& TMT Treasurer!) explaining that there is $2 million left for “termination and liability,” and that their current plan is to build on La Palma in the Canary Islands. The full video is available at the UC BOR YouTube (look for the May 6 Finance and Capital Strategies Committee meeting).

The University of California is the key partner in TMT, representing much more power than its 1/6 interest in the project. The Chair, Treasurer and many other key TMT leaders are also in UC leadership, and the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation money that started the project came through UC. UC has the most to gain from TMT being built in Hawai’i — what a cush workation, right?!

Main point: The purpose of this FIRST, very simple and clear of the , upon which our entire country is built, is that NO one has a right to anybody else, and if they do, the people have a right to defend themselves (in this case breaking a paddle over Kamehameha's own head when he was not being pono). It also says, quite literally, that everyone has the right to lay in the road without threat of harm of any kind. And then it also says that if you break this, you will die. Ok, so here we are a couple centuries later, and the illegally occupying government is breaking the Kãnāwai like nobody's business. Which means, if you believe in the Kānāwai, they need to come down. Not necessarily the human beings, but the greedy bully system that has no aloha or respect for human rights and constantly abuses ka 'elemakule, ka luahine a me ke k**a who do not have power to stand for themselves.

STAND WITH SAMSON & KAWEHI at MOKULEIA!!!
The State Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity singled out these cultural caretakers for eviction (notices were ONLY given to them). These Kanaka have cleared tons of trash, replaced invasive species with a beautiful cultural mala, and practice PONO in all that they are doing.
Please help them!
Call Governor Josh Green RIGHT NOW (we want his messages overloaded when he comes in to work) (808)586-0034 and RESPECTFULLY (remember that disrespect or anger creates an excuse to dismiss us, so don’t do it) tell him there is NO BIOSECURITY WITHOUT KANAKA, and he needs to STOP THE EVICTION AT MOKULEIA NOW!!!
Also, please come down and STAND WITH SAMSON & KAWEHI! They will need people present until safety can be assured. Bring WATER (more is better), musical instruments, hardy plants in pots (with more water), non-perishable food, paper goods, folding chairs, and cash to donate if you like (note: they are humble people and not asking for money, but we know they will need it).
Also bring your own seatng, and everything you need to be comfortable, including your own toilet if staying overnight when nearby bathrooms are closed (a bucket with plastic bags is suggested for this, and you must haul out and dispose of waste). Everyone must listen to Samson & Kawehi & follow their direction at ALL TIMES, and haul out all of your own trash.
Greatest need is from 12-7am.
The ocean here is amazing, so def bring beach stuff to jump in the water, but remember that THIS IS NOT A PARTY. Your behavior reflects directly on the people we are supporting, so please be very focused in helping according to what is really needed, in all the ways. Also, please remember that eviction struggles can be very triggering, so please take care of your own mental health needs. Those who take medications for balance (or should be taking them) should definitely be on them, or not be in the space. Those who cannot control their rage at the hewa of the government should also not be in the space. It is OK not to come and to just support from afar, if it is too much to handle without being triggered.

No matter what, please SPREAD THE WORD!!!

Mahalo nui to the dear Amah Mutsun tribe and especially Aloha ‘Ãina Chairman Val Lopez, who was being honored in Santa Cruz. So I had to leave the Union City conference to catch this event honoring him. Val has stood with us for our Mauna, driving from hours away to help, while fighting a long battle over a gravel mine on their sacred land (they won!). Made this sticker some time ago to celebrate this connection and gave the last ones to Val. Mahalo & for the beautiful lei. Mahalo to all who truly respect and support the Indigenous People everywhere. Aloha!

March to Open AI HQ in SF yesterday with powerful rally. Mahalo ILPS & everyone else! This ties in to directly: this year more than ever, tech is a highlight of RIMPAC. This goes way beyond spying, into technologies that target supposed opponents of whatever, and just like the rest of AI, they often screw up — and kill kids instead.

25,000 troops, including IDF & other notorious wrongdoers worldwide, are about to descend on our communities for over a MONTH, June 24 to August 4. Drinking, looking for s*x, and clogging our beaches, trails and streets with military madness, driving the s*x trafficking rate up and much more.
And this is NOT about hate of them. This is about the continued, unchecked militarization of our world by the brutal country that is illegally our , country and continuing the exploitive of our land and sea, as a way to and other peoples’ lands all around the world.
