Current campaigns include raising awareness and increasing recovery actions for the critically endangered palila bird on Mauna Kea and the endangered Hawaiian monk seal; taking legal action t

o protect threatened and endangered seabirds from lights and utility lines on Kaua'i; raising awareness and public support for eradicating introduced rats to protect Hawaiian birds; and urging the federal government to remove pigs, rebuild fences, and hire more staff at the Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge on Mauna Kea to protect rare and endangered birds and plants.

Not every outreach event is the same, and that’s exactly what made Ocean Day at Waimea Valley so special. 🌊🌿

We were honored to spend the day in such a meaningful place, connecting with community members and alongside grassroots organizations doing incredible work on Oʻahu’s North Shore and beyond.

Conservation is about more than policy and advocacy—it’s about relationships, education, and building a community of people who care deeply about Hawaiʻi’s future. Mahalo to everyone who stopped by to talk story, learn more about our work, share your manaʻo, and get involved.

Together, we’re creating a stronger voice for Hawaiʻi’s lands, waters, wildlife, and communities.

🌊 Come visit us at Ocean Day at Waimea Valley! 🌿
We’ll be joining the community at Ocean Day, hosted by Mālama Pūpūkea-Waimea, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Waimea Valley.
Stop by our booth to chat about current conservation issues, learn what we’ve been working on, and discover ways to get involved in protecting Hawaiʻi’s unique natural resources. It’s also a great opportunity to sign up for membership, explore volunteer opportunities, and connect with others who care about our islands.
And if you’ve met us before, you know we usually have a few fun freebies to share too! 🎁
We love meeting community members, hearing your perspectives, and building connections that help strengthen conservation efforts across Hawaiʻi.
Can’t make this event? Keep your eyes peeled for future community events—we’d love to meet you there!
