Some screenshots from "Kāpili: Connections Rebuilt," animated by Chesley Cannon, with music by Leilehua Lanzilotti. This story personifies the Koʻolau and Wai‘anae mountain ranges as giant, green mo‘o parents of two keiki in the Ewa region. The story reminds us of the importance of protecting our forests and caring for each other, and how it can lead to fruitful life. As the saying goes, "Hahai no ka ua i ka ulu laʻau" - the rain follows after the forest; or Plant a forest and abundance will follow!

Photos from our first rehearsal this past weekend with the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra. Amazing to hear the six new compositions by Tonia Ko, Leilehua Lanzilotti, Michael Foumai, Herb Mahelona, Justin Park, and Takuma Itoh brought to life. Concerts on April 20 & 21, when they will be paired with the animation by Kalilinoe Detwiler, Mirren Hollison, Elyse Chai, Chelsely Cannon, and Laura Margulies.

Symphony of the Hawai’i Forests pre-registration has started! Open to all 4th-12th grade classrooms. Free concerts to see the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra perform at the Hawai’i Theatre on 4/20 & 4/21 at 9:30/10:45 for free. We have aid available for schools to help with bus costs.
