We had a good time at Kids to Parks Day! We tried to teach our many young visitors (and their parents) a little about trees using the Kumulāʻau card game (from ). We also saw many of our colleagues, including our friends from . Thanks to state parks for organizing such a great event, which gets bigger every year!

Each building on ‘s campus is named after a native tree or plant. The Year of Our Community Forests inspired a rejuvenated effort to plant the native tree or plant near its namesake building. Accordingly, at the end of last year, a Mānele tree was planted near Mānele building!

We took a peaceful walk through recently. We learned about the Japanese inspired practice called forest bathing as we got in touch with the natural landscapes on campus.
