Our ignorance about plastic pollution is suffocating us.

makes up approximately half the plastic produced, and, as the name suggests, is used once before being discarded.

But plastic is designed to be indestructible. On average, plastic takes 400 years to break down.

Only 9% of plastic is recycled into something to be used again. 12% of plastic ends up in the incinerator.

That means that 79% of all plastic ever produced still exists in its original state.

So, of the 8.3 billion tons of plastic produced since 1950, 6.5 billion tons has been disposed of somewhere on our planet and will stay there for centuries.

We each have a choice: Perpetuate the problem by pretending it doesn’t exist, or change our habits by taking personal responsibility to reduce our own plastic consumption.

Do you still think you need that plastic water bottle today? Will you choose to continue to suffocate in your ignorance?

How much plastic can you grab in 20 seconds? went out for a sunset paddle just for a laugh here in Bali, wasn't much of a wave around, but its always nice to end the day in the ocean and watch the sunset.

However, they ended up picking more plastic than waves, when it should be the other way around don't you think?

What is bioaccumulation?
🦠➡️ 🦐 ➡️ 🐟 ➡️ 🦈
Bioaccumulation is the gradual amplification of substances in organisms across the food web.

When a small fish, or plankton eats plastic, it is transferred to the next level of the food web when it's consumed by the larger species. This pattern continues, and the end result is that organisms at the top of the food chain contain much higher quantifies of the plastic than lower trophic level organisms: top predators consume all the plastic and chemicals that the organisms it ate had previously consumed.

The issue of transcends seabirds and whales eating , it impacts every organism across the food web.

The video that , and don’t want you to see 👀

The Big Brands want you to believe they are taking steps to reduce plastic but they are actually working hand in hand with Big Oil to produce even more.

Their plastic bottles have devastating effects for our health, our planet and our communities! And only 9% of all plastic waste ever made has been actually recycled.

But with your help, we can all speak up for real solutions!

Share this video far and wide & go the linktree in our Instagram bio to sign our petition to end single-use plastic and ask the Big Brands to switch to refill & reuse 🌍

Here is a story about a true fighter! 🐢

“Rainbow the green sea turtle was rescued from the Bream Hole in Lennox Head on New Years Day. You may remember the story about Rainbow, she had a close encounter with a shark and then needed her back right flipper amputated by the amazing team at the

This wasn’t the only issue Rainbow was facing. She also had a stomach full of plastic!!! Over a six week period Rainbow had passed the most amount of plastic we have ever seen a turtle in our care pass! It’s actually incredible that she is still with us. Just a few pieces of this plastic could severely impact her health.

Despite everything Rainbow has been through she is incredibly strong and has adapted well to having just 3 flippers.

This is a big reminder to please be mindful of your plastic usage and always dispose of rubbish correctly.”

HOW DO PLASTIC STRAWS GET INTO THE OCEAN?⠀⠀⠀
Plastic straws end up in the ocean primarily through human error, often⠀⠀
1) left on beaches in coastal communities and seaside resorts globally⠀⠀
2) littered⠀⠀
OR⠀⠀
3) blown out of trash cans (oftentimes overfilled) or transport boats and vehicles.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While some city's waste management infrastructure is sound (like Seattle, for instance), not all communities have the same level of accountability.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember, all gutters and storm drains lead to our ocean!⠀⠀⠀
