Join us in celebrating the launch of our first ever zine, in commemoration of International Workers Day!

The “Unite and Fight: Stories from Hawaiʻi Workers” zine was born from a coalition of worker-led associations, organizations, and unions committed to ensuring the rights, safety, and welfare of all workers in Hawaiʻi are upheld — regardless of their union member status, citizenship, or ethnic background. We can’t wait to celebrate the many workers, artists, and poets who contributed their work.

HWC volunteers, staff, & board members continued our Kona Low storm wellness checks in the flood-impacted areas of Mānoa. We met with workers whose homes were flooded, leaving them displaced and forced to take time off from work. Our Kōkua Fund will provide much needed assistance to these workers as they navigate recovery.

[To apply for Kōkua Fund assistance] The HWC is offering Kōkua Fund assistance for workers impacted by the Kona Low storm flooding. Please contact us at 📞(808) 743-1031 or 📧 [email protected] to apply.

Over the weekend, members of our COFA Workers Association convened for a General Assembly meeting.

At this meeting, workers discussed the issues impacting them — including new restrictions on Commercial Drivers Licenses — and voted on forming an alliance of their organizations to build more collective worker power.

Interested in learning more about the COFA Workers Association? Contact our organizer, Lauren Taijeron, at (808) 679-5285.
