IMPORTANT EVENT UPDATE – VENUE CHANGE!

Due to the continued rainy weather, Hamakua Jodo Missionʻs temple grounds have become extremely saturated and muddy. Unfortunately, the conditions of their lawn and parking field have made it difficult for vehicles to safely access and park on the property.

After careful consideration, we, along with Hamakua Jodo Mission, have made the decision to move the event to our Heritage Center located at 45-3490 Māmane Street.

We know changes like this can be unexpected, and we truly appreciate everyone's understanding and flexibility. Our priority is making sure all of our guests, families, vendors, and volunteers can arrive safely and enjoy the event without worrying about muddy grounds or parking difficulties.

Although Mother Nature has other plans for us, the event is still ON!

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post so everyone is aware of the new location! Same event, new location, and the same aloha! 😀

Mahalo nui loa for your understanding and continued support...we can't wait to see you there on Sunday!

Big mahalos to First Insurance Co of Hawaii for their kind support of the Hāmākua Youth Center! Their generosity helps us continue to serve the keiki of Hāmākua, and for that we are truly grateful.

You don’t have to leave Hawaiʻi Island to see how wool is transformed from fleece into yarn!

Established in 2024, ʻOhana Fiber Mill is located in Kukuihaele, on the way to the Waipiʻo Valley Lookout. This local fiber mill works with wool producers here on Hawaiʻi Island, including Kahua Ranch and other small local fiber producers, to turn locally raised fiber into beautiful yarn.

Curious about how it all works? They offer mill tours where you can see the equipment and learn about the process of turning raw wool into yarn. And, of course, there’s a mill store where you can browse a variety of yarns and other fiber-related goodies!

They also offer custom processing, taking wool from fleece all the way to skein, as well as creating their own unique blends using Merino, Romney, and other high-quality fibers.

So, before you start your next knitting, crocheting, or fiber arts project, why not shop local and support a business that helps keep the entire process right here on the island? 👍
