It's that time of the year again! The day that has come to be known as Giving Tuesday. Here at the rescue we give to the horses every day. We started this journey officially in November of 2007. That's 17 years of giving.

While we have found ourselves winding down over the last few years, we still have horses that are supported by the rescue, as well as horses that are safeguarded by the rescue in case they need to return to us.

Please, if you have $1 to spare, the horses will be thankful for the help in keeping them safe from the moment they were rescued, until their last day.

Our darling Kendall (Kennie) has been having some difficulties lately. When she first came to us in 2010 she had fractures in the coffin bone of both of her fronts, as well as significant rotation in the one. She's always been comfortable with the exception of a random abscess or for a few days after her trims. She isn't comfortable now. She did just blow an abscess, and she is on pain meds currently (she wasn't prior to this recent episode). We have an appointment on Wed May 8th for our vet to come out and take new x rays and evaluate her. We can then make a decision on her expected quality of life. If anyone feels so inclined, as always donations would really help. Getting support for the same horses that have been here for 14 years isn't always easy.

We have been an active horse rescue since 2007, that is 16 long years. During that time the majority of the horse care has been done by our Founder - Laurie Brinkworth . All of that work has taken a toll on her body and she is now facing 3 major surgeries. She will be having both knees replaced and her shoulder operated on. She will be out of work for at least a year. (She donated her income to the rescue). We are asking for any help that you can offer. Donations, volunteering for horse care (we need people who already are familiar with horses for this), volunteering for fence work, volunteering for putting away hay, and adopters and/or fosters for our current rescue horses. (We can not afford to pay for foster care, but we can issue a tax receipt). Please share this status if you can!
