Have you ever wondered what happens to all that blue boat wrap once spring comes? ๐ฅ๏ธ
This year, Penn State Master Watershed Stewards of Wayne County, Lacawac Sanctuary Foundation staff, and District staff were able to help 1140 of these wraps (so far) get recycled instead of sent to the landfill. That's over 9,000 lbs of plastic! โป๏ธ
A big thank you to Ultra-Poly, who sent a compactor truck with fantastic staff and is recycling the plastics!
A huge shout out to the local marinas who participated and helped make this effort a success: Sterling Marina, 1st Klas Marina, Seely's Marina, Lighthouse Harbor Marina, Driftwood Cove Marina, and Bakker Marine. ๐
