✨ It’s Prom Season! ✨
Parents of Wallenpaupack Area High School students, this is an exciting time for our teens, but it also comes with important conversations.
🚫 Why allowing alcohol isn’t the answer:
Even when supervised, providing alcohol to teens can send the message that underage drinking is acceptable. This can lead to increased curiosity, risky behavior, and long-term impacts on brain development and overall health.
⚖️ Know the risks:
Hosting underage drinking in your home can result in serious legal consequences, including fines of up to $1,500 per minor and possible jail time.
💬 Start the conversation:
Talking with your teen makes a difference. Try asking:
• “What do you think about people your age drinking?”
• “What would make prom night fun without alcohol?”
Open, honest conversations help teens feel supported and make safer choices.
Let’s work together to keep our students safe and make prom this Sunday one to remember—for all the right reasons 💜
