Plenty of pumpkin contests this year! Be sure to enter!

We’ve got a little fall fun coming to Mumme’s!

Our Pumpkin Decorating Contest is kicking off at Mumme’s Hondo and Pearsall, and everyone is invited to join!

Pick up your pumpkin October 15 through 17, take it home and get creative! Paint it, dress it up or give it a little Texas ranch personality. Just no carving!

Bring your finished pumpkin back October 24 for display and public voting through October 30.

Prizes
1st Place: $250 Mumme’s Gift Card
2nd Place: $150 Mumme’s Gift Card
3rd Place: Mumme’s Merchandise Bundle

And there’s something for the voters too! Stop by and cast your vote in store for a chance to win a Turtlebox Ranger Speaker! Winners will be announced November 2.

Validation reminders!!
October 17th is sheep & goat validation from 9-11am at the Hondo FFA Project Center
October 18th is heifer validation from 2-4pm at Paul Aelvoet's south of Hondo at the grain bin (email or call for the address)

This is a great opportunity for any high school 4-H members with a passion for art or photography!

The Western Art Contest and Photography Contest, hosted by the Western Art Committee, are now open for entries!

These contests celebrate the creativity, talent and unique perspectives of high school students, giving young artists and photographers the opportunity to showcase their vision of the American West while competing for scholarships and recognition.

Registration is open now through October 31!

Get in the Halloween spirit and participate in the 2026 Texas 4-H Pumpkin Carving Contest!🍀🎃

To enter, send a photo of your carving to our Facebook along with the name of the member who created it and the county they are enrolled in as a 4-H member. Voting will take place on Facebook starting on October 27th. Happy carving!
