Yesterday our team checked in on the School of Champions, school for the deaf. Through Sweetwater and private funding, this school has come a long way in the simple necessities like mattresses and sheets for the children to sleep on, private bathrooms for the boys and girls, tanks, gutters, and filtration system.

Imparting safe water practices to children at a young age helps prevent waterborne illness and death for generations to come. This is a cornerstone of our sustainability and health values, and is vital to this lifesaving work 🩵

This week, our SWO team visited 10 schools in our Adopt-a-Schools program! Over the last 12 years, Sweetwater has been able to provide water to local communities by installing tanks and gutters for rainwater collection. This work allows students to access safe drinking water while also ensuring their education 🩵

This school is in Phase 1 of the program, and has one tank currently. Florence shares that due to SWO’s impact, she anticipates more students will enroll in the New Year, necessitating another tank to meet the growing need for water.
