At Fido’s Landing, we are committed to providing a second chance at life for dogs who have been surrendered, abused, or neglected. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to rescue, nurture, train, and find loving forever homes for these innocent animals. We also have an outreach program that supports dogs staying at home. We supply food and help with vaccinations and spay/neuter.

Allllright everyone! 🎉🐾 Let’s get ready for some fun!

We will be at the Mokena PetSmart TOMORROW (6/13) from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM under the tent and we can’t wait to see you!

This is an adoption event, but we will also be able to approve foster homes on-site for those interested in helping one of our amazing pups. ❤️

We are so incredibly grateful for all of the support, encouragement, and kindness you’ve shown us during this transition. It truly means the world to our team and, most importantly, to the dogs.

Good morning everyone ☀️

We’re still processing everything that happened yesterday and are truly overwhelmed by the love and support. Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️

We are continuing to process applications and schedule meet-and-greets, so please be patient with our small but mighty team as we work through them all.

Good grief, guys… all you had to say was you didn’t want us to leave so quickly! 🥹

A MASSIVE thank you to Collins Heating & Cooling and owner Mark Ortiz for servicing the air conditioning unit that cools our large kennel room…completely free of charge to the rescue.

To say we were speechless would be an understatement.

While this doesn’t change our long-term plans to transition away from this location, it does mean the kennel room is safe, comfortable, and helps us better manage conditions for the dogs while we continue this journey.

We also received another surprise today when Fox News reached out and stopped by the rescue to do an update interview regarding the challenges we’ve been facing.

Throughout all of this, we’ve tried very hard to remain respectful and focused on solutions. While the conditions in the building are not ideal and there have been many more issues than most people realize, we never want this to become about blame.

Commercial leases are very different from residential leases. They often require tenants to take on a much larger role in maintaining and outfitting a space. The reality is simply that the magnitude of the repairs and unexpected issues became more than our small nonprofit could reasonably sustain.

As with so many rescues, we constantly rely on the kindness and support of our community. That’s the world of nonprofit work, and we’re incredibly grateful for every person and business that has stepped up to help us through this transition.

Today reminded us that even during difficult times, there are some truly amazing people willing to lend a hand.

Good morning everyone. ❤️

This is Sarah, and I just wanted to send a massive thank you to all of you. First and foremost, thank you God for another day. Thank you for the prayers, kind words, encouragement, and support during this transition.

Yesterday, something truly incredible happened. Maria Mendez, owner of 4 Paws Playhouse, generously offered to partner with Fidos Landing and house our pups. We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to partner with such an amazing woman and support a business that she has poured her heart and soul into. The fact that she cared enough about our dogs to open her heart and help provide a safe, clean, and wonderful environment means more than words can express.

While we will not be moving into a new facility anytime soon, we are holding tight to our faith and trusting the path ahead. As many of you can imagine, this experience has been difficult, but we know brighter days are coming. Most importantly, our dogs will not have to remain in our current facility, and that is an incredible blessing.

We also have quite a few applications to process, and many of our younger pups are beginning to move into foster homes. Please be patient with us as we work through everything, we are a small team, but we are moving as quickly as possible.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Fido’s Landing. We couldn’t do this without you. Lucky can’t contain her excitement 🐾❤️

🔥 HEATWAVE EMERGENCY —URGENT FOSTERS NEEDED! 🔥

While many of us are enjoying this summer weather, our kennel dogs are struggling with the extreme heat.

Despite running fans and air conditioning, our large kennel room is becoming too hot to comfortably house the number of dogs currently in our care. We are doing everything we can, but we need your help to get through the next month.

🐾 Fostering saves lives.
🐾 We provide supplies and support.
🐾 You provide a safe, cool place to land.

Even fostering for a few weeks can make a huge difference for a dog in need and help us reduce the number of dogs in the building during this heatwave.

Please consider opening your home temporarily to one of our amazing pups. If you can’t foster, sharing this post could help us find someone who can.

The bestest boy is still patiently waiting for his forever family. ❤️

And yes, we know “bestest” isn’t technically a word… but if it was made for anyone, it was made for Kringle.

Our sweet boy is having the hardest time at the rescue. He gets all the love, snuggles, treats, and attention our staff can give, but nothing compares to having a home of his own.

Kringle would thrive in a foster or forever home where he can:
☀️ Sunbathe in the backyard
🦴 Enjoy plenty of snacks
❤️ Snuggle up with his people
🏃 Run and play in a yard

He would do best as the only dog so he can soak up all the attention he deserves. And NO children under 15.

Every day we tell him his family is out there. We just need help finding them.
