Mark your calendars for July 31 when Diane Lary and her gorgeous watercolors return to the etc. Gallery at 257 N. Krome Avenue, reception 6-8 p.m. The show will be up until August 30th.

Diane, aka “The Outpost Artist”, is a native of Michigan, but has made her home in the “Redland”. There is where she has found true happiness living amongst the natural beauty of her “Jungle Outpost”.

Working exclusively in watercolor, Diane loves to describe her subject through light, color and depth. The mixture of foliage and rustic charm is the most intriguing for her. These efforts have permitted Diane to win awards and much recognition for her paintings

Don't miss the Seminole Players presentation of Sister Act, July 18-21 and July 25-27 at the Seminole Theatre on Krome Avenue in downtown Homestead. "Sister Act" is a feel-good musical comedy based on the 1992 film filled with pulsating Disco/Funk music from the 1970’s, outrageous dancing, and a truly moving story.

If you have a group of 10-20 people they can offer you a 10% discount and if you have more than 20 people they can offer you a 15% discount. If either of those work for you we can have the box office call you to set up ticketing and payment. Tickets are $35 plus a convenience fee if using a credit card.

From the theatre: "You can choose your seats and right now everything is pretty open since we just announced. We have two Sunday matinees in addition to evening performances. So hopefully you can bring a crowd with you to support the Arts and see a really fun, family-friendly show.

With a broken heart the Main Street family announces the passing of our dear board president, Susan Dryer. Susan believed in downtown Homestead so much that she opened two businesses in the historic district, the most recent etc. Antiques and Art Gallery. Susan was dearly loved by her friends and associates and we will miss her enthusiasm and Aussie spirit profoundly. Susan, on the right, celebrating the renovation of the Seminole Theatre with fellow board members.

Homestead Main Street will host our monthly lecture series Friday, March 28th, 5:30-7:00 at the Homestead Town Hall Museum.
The speaker, HCA artist Terre Rybovich, will discuss her unique art and techniques. The reception is free of charge and the Museum is located at 41 N. Krome Avenue.

Terre's artwork is both intimate and large scale, expressing a dialogue between nature and self. Collectors have been drawn to her work both locally and abroad and we are so pleased to have her as our March guest speaker.
