ORMACO and the Canal Fulton Library present Brad Wagner and Anthony Fuoco in a concert of jazz standards on Tuesday, May 5 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Brad Wagner is a saxophone player with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, and Anthony Fuoco teaches piano and jazz studies at Baldwin Wallace University.

The program is free. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.

About the Musicians
BRAD WAGNER (soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones; flute, alto flute, piccolo, Bb clarinet, and bass clarinet, composer, arranger) received a BM in Jazz Studies from the University of Cincinnati. He is a musician, composer, and arranger for Pulse, the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Ernie Krivda and the Fat Tuesday Big Band, The Black Dog Octet, Third Law Composers Collective, and has been a member of groups including The Hendectet Jazz Collective, Sam Blakeslee Large Group, Moustache Yourself, Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, Eclipse, Marc Fields Sextet, and more. As a freelance musician, he has performed and recorded with many groups including the Cleveland Orchestra, Akron Symphony, Canton Symphony, Kentucky Symphony, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Jazz Heritage Orchestra, as well as playing pit orchestras for Broadway shows, and backing various entertainers from the jazz, rock, and pop world.
ANTHONY FUOCO is a lecturer at Baldwin Wallace University where he teaches courses in piano, pedagogy and jazz. As a pianist, Fuoco frequently performs as a member of groups such as the Pulse Quartet (with Brad Wagner, Aidan Plank, and Dustin May), the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and the Wedmedyk/Fuoco duo. He has collaborated with well-known artists such as Joe Lovano, Carmen Castaldi, Jamey Haddad and John Daversa. In 2019, his performance with Joe Lovano at the BopStop was recorded and featured on the NPR program Jazz Night in America. He also has extensive experience performing the classical piano duo repertoire with his wife, Christine Fuoco. Degrees earned are an M.M. in piano performance from the University of Illinois, and a B.M. in piano performance from SUNY Potsdam.

Hop on the bus at 8:15 am on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as ORMACO heads to the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums in Fremont, Ohio. Start the trip with muffins and mimosas, then relax and enjoy the 90 minute ride.

Upon arrival, a docent will lead us in a guided tour of The Rutherford B. Hayes Home, a 31-room mansion and centerpiece of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums. Then you’ll tour the museums at your own pace and enjoy the grounds, where a mile of paved trails wind through a beautiful garden arboretum.

Following the tours, we’ll head to Catawba Island for a seasonal lunch with a glass of wine at Ørchard. After lunch we’ll wander the vineyard grounds and visit the farm stand where the retail shop and farm market feature seasonal produce and an assortment of Ørchard items, such as jams and jellies, coffee, maple syrup, hyper-local Henny B honey and more.

We’ll have a wine and cheese party with chocolates on the bus trip back, arriving at Buehler’s River Styx around 4:45 pm.

George Foley and the EEJ Trio: 1920s Stride Piano
ORMACO and the Wadsworth Public Library continue Live at the Library with George Foley on Sunday, April 19, at 2 pm at the Wadsworth Public Library, 132 Broad Street, Wadsworth, OH 44281. Live at the Library celebrates 250 years of music in America by revisiting each decade of the 20th century. Kicking things off with the 1920s, George Foley and the EEJ Trio will perform and tell us about stride piano, ragtime, and the roots of jazz music.

About the Musicians:

George Foley started playing ragtime at the age of 13. He received most of his musical education at the Cleveland Music School Settlement, where he studied piano, theory, composition and jazz improvisation. He attend the College of Wooster, where he hosted a weekly ragtime radio show and played piano for the Wooster Jazz Ensemble. He was awarded the Charles V. Rychlik Composition Award by the Cleveland Music School Settlement for his “Chinatown Rag” in 1974. He released his first album “Cleveland Rag” on Century-Advent Records in 1977. It was re-issued on the Jazzology label in 1980.

Eric Everett (EEJ Trio) has four decades of drumming experience, studying privately at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory and performing in Case Western Reserve University’s small group Jazz and Big Band ensembles. Eric leads the “Firelands Trio” and “Elation” R&B band and performs as a sideman with the Cliff Habian Trio and George Foley Quartet. Eric has performed at Nighttown, Bop Stop, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and more.

About the Musicians
The Belleville Trio is a recently established band made up of longtime contributors to Northeast Ohio’s musical community. Guitarist Brad Bolton is an expert in jazz and swing from the 1930s-60; guitarist Topher Starzyk is known for playing both solo classical guitar and in swing bands; vocalist Sally Kandel has performed with groups such as Rio Neon and Dirty Shirleys. Together they indulge their passion for the Parisian “gypsy jazz” of the 1930s, spearheaded by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephan Grapelli, with a repertoire of period pieces by Reinhardt, George Gershwin and Fats Waller, as well as more contemporary pop tunes by artists such as the Beatles, performed in 30s “hot jazz” style.

About the Musician
Joe Rangel is a jazz vocalist who brings the unique artistry of a seven-stringed guitar to accompany himself. Rangel has performed for years regionally and nationally as both a sideman and bandleader in genres that range from R&B to jazz, pop, and Latin. A Cleveland native, Joe has studied jazz in the acclaimed music program at Tri-C Metro and graduated with a bachelor’s in music performance from Cleveland State University (with an emphasis in jazz guitar).

This unforgettable week‑long adventure invites you to experience Germany’s capital through its music, museums, cuisine, and cultural landmarks. From intimate cabaret stages to grand opera houses, from poignant memorials to palatial Prussian estates, this is Berlin at its most inspiring.

Day-by-Day Highlights (Order of Events Subject to Change)
Note: This trip requires moderate walking up to 1.5 miles (35 minutes). Alternatively, participants can pool together to call either an Uber or taxi to get you from Point A to Point B. Everybody will have a Berlin Welcome Card, which allows you to have unlimited bus and U-bahn transportation for the entire trip.

• Sunday, October 25 -Auf Wiedersehen Ohio
We bid Ohio farewell as we converge at Cleveland Hopkins Airport to begin our overseas adventure. We depart at 2:00 pm on United Airlines for a short flight to Newark, New Jersey. We will transfer to our international gate for a scheduled 6:50 pm flight to Berlin. Sit back, relax and enjoy the friendly skies as we head eastbound.

• Monday, October 26 – Willkommen in Berlin
Your journey begins with a smooth arrival at BER Airport at 7:55 am. After collecting your luggage, we will transfer to the elegant four-star NH Collection Berlin Mitte, perfectly located for exploring the city’s vibrant heart.
After settling in, enjoy a relaxed afternoon stroll through the neighborhood before gathering for a welcome dinner at Zur letzten Instanz, Berlin’s oldest restaurant—where centuries of stories meet hearty German cuisine.

• Tuesday, October 27 – Berlin’s Stories & Cabaret Magic
After enjoying a hearty buffet breakfast, we will walk to the Jewish Museum Berlin, a powerful and architecturally stunning exploration of Jewish life and culture.
In the afternoon, we’ll settle onto a private coach with a knowledgeable local guide for a panoramic introduction to Berlin. This curated tour highlights the city’s most iconic neighborhoods, landmarks, and stories, offering a rich and engaging orientation to Berlin’s complex history and vibrant present.
As evening falls, we will make our way by public transport to BAR JEDER VERNUNFT, where you will step into a legendary cabaret tent where Berlin’s artistic soul comes alive through music, performance, and old‑world charm. Enjoy dinner and a performance by Sven Ratzke, the Dutch/German singer, entertainer, and actor who was hailed by Time Out Magazine as “one of the best cabaret performers of his generation.” After the show, we will make our way back to the hotel for a peaceful night of sleep.

• Wednesday, October 28 – A Day of Reflection & Royal Splendor
Following breakfast, we will travel north by motorcoach to Sachsenhausen, one of the most significant memorial sites in Germany, for a deeply moving and educational experience.
We will continue to Potsdam to explore the Marble Palace and the breathtaking Sanssouci Palace, Frederick the Great’s rococo masterpiece.
The evening is yours to unwind, dine, and explore Berlin at your own pace.

• Thursday, October 29 – Art, Memory & Free Time
Following breakfast, we will walk over to the Topography of Terror Museum, located on the former Gestapo headquarters site, offering essential insight into the mechanisms of N**i terror.
Lunch at Beba in the Gropius Bau—an artistic hub where food, design, and culture intersect—sets the tone for a relaxed afternoon to explore galleries, shop, or simply enjoy Berlin’s café culture. We will also enjoy a live mini concert during our buffet lunch, which will feature fresh and delicious Mediterranean/Levantine cuisine with a focus on Jewish diaspora dishes.
Following lunch, continue to enjoy exploring the vibrant Mitte district on your own. Make your way back to the hotel at your leisure and spend the evening exploring independently at your own pace.

• Friday, October 30 – Nature, Canals & Grand Opera
After breakfast, we will escape to the enchanting Spreewald, a UNESCO biosphere reserve known for its serene waterways and traditional villages. A boat tour reveals a quieter, pastoral side of Germany. We will also experience the car-free village of Lehde and will visit a famous pickle store, where you will have the opportunity to sample the delicious Spreewald gherkins. Lunch on the boat is included.
Return to Berlin refreshed and ready for an evening at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, one of Europe’s premier opera houses, for a world‑class performance. (Note that we will find out the performance schedule in late spring).

• Saturday, October 31 – Museum Island & Symphony Night
Spend the morning on Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site home to five extraordinary museums. Whether you’re drawn to ancient civilizations, classical sculpture, or 19th‑century masterpieces, this is a cultural treasure trove.
After a leisurely afternoon, enjoy an evening with the Rundfunk‑Sinfonieorchester Berlin, one of Germany’s most distinguished orchestras. (Like the Opera, we will find out the performance schedule in late spring).

• Sunday, November 1 – Democracy, Memory & Medieval Feasting
After another wonderful buffet breakfast, we will begin with a visit to the Reichstag, the seat of German democracy, crowned by its iconic glass dome.
A guided stroll through the surrounding historic district brings you to the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, the Tiergarten, and more.
The afternoon is your last opportunity to soak in the vibrancy of Berlin on your own, do some shopping, explore some markets, savor a local beer and relax. Return to the hotel to recharge your batteries, freshen up, and head together as a group by public transportation for our farewell dinner.
Celebrate your final evening with a festive dinner at Tafelrunde Medieval Restaurant, where music, atmosphere, and hearty fare transport you back in time.

• Monday, November 2 – Farewell, Berlin
Enjoy a final breakfast before your early transfer to BER Airport. The flight departs at 9:55 am and arrives in Newark at 1:10 pm. You will have plenty of time to transfer to the domestic flight, which departs at 4:00 pm, with arrival in Cleveland at 5:40 pm.
Depart with unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a deeper connection to Berlin’s artistic and cultural heartbeat.
