Youth Outlook's Spring 2025 Volunteer Training begins Saturday, April 26th, 2025.

This is a great opportunity for LGBTQ+ adults and allies (age 21+) to get involved with supporting LGBTQ+ youth in your community! Now more than ever, we're relying on caring and passionate adults to answer the call to be there for LGBTQ+ young people.

We're particularly recruiting volunteers for our Elmhurst, Ottawa, Peoria, and Sterling sites. We have in person and virtual volunteer opportunities available throughout north and central Illinois.

Trans Up Front Illinois posted this yesterday - "Today's first endorsement announcement comes from PFLAG Northern Illinois! They work with families to create a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. They provide resources, community, and support for family members who may not be familiar with how to support the gender identity or sexuality of their loved one. The work they do is especially impactful given that having even one supportive adult lowers the rates of su***de attempts by 39% in a year. We're so happy to have them on board for our protest on March 30th!" There are a handful of PFLAG Geneva/Tri-Cities members going!
