🎉💛 Luna Mae update!

We are so happy to share that Luna is doing well after her liver shunt surgery and is being released from the University of Wisconsin–Madison Veterinary Care today! 🥹🐾

Just a few days ago, Luna underwent a major surgery that we hoped would give her the chance at a healthier, happier future. Seeing her recover and be cleared to go home is the news we have all been waiting for.

Luna still has a recovery period ahead of her and will need continued monitoring, medications, and lots of rest, but this is a huge milestone and an important step forward in her journey.

We cannot thank everyone enough for the donations, shares, prayers, and words of encouragement. Your support made it possible for Luna to receive the specialized care she needed. Rescue truly takes a village, and Luna is proof of that. 💕

We are incredibly grateful to the team at the University of Wisconsin–Madison Veterinary Care for taking such wonderful care of our sweet girl.

Emmy, 7, is one of our newest dogs available for adoption. She adores humans so much she’ll wiggle her way past the resident dog just to get closer. She’s crate trained, easy to feed, great on a leash, and enjoys a fenced yard. Sweet, snuggly, and obsessed with her hoomans — that’s our Emmy.

💛🐾 Luna Mae update

We received a couple photos of sweet Luna recovering at the Iniversity of Wisconsin-Madison Veterinary Care, and we are so relieved to share that she is doing well after surgery 🥹

This brave little girl has already been through so much, and while she still has a long road ahead, we are incredibly hopeful.

Right now, Luna will likely need to remain hospitalized through Thursday or Friday so the team can continue closely monitoring her recovery and make sure everything is healing the way it should.

Seeing her resting comfortably after such a major surgery honestly means the world to us 💕

Thank you to every single person who donated, shared her fundraiser, sent prayers, or simply kept Luna in your thoughts. Because of your support, Luna was able to get the surgery she desperately needed.

We are beyond grateful 💛

Angel rescuer Kathy along with her cavalier King Charles spaniels Poppy and Kash were ready to bring another dog into the family. Kathy came to an event and chatted with some of the foster parents but had hoped to meet Queen Bonnie. She wasn’t there but that didn’t deter Kathy! She applied and once approved, scheduled a private meet and greet and made a match.

💔🐾 Luna Mae is at the University of Wisconsin-Madison tonight…

This sweet girl is settling in and preparing for her liver shunt surgery tomorrow morning 🥺

Looking at her sitting there at the university, it’s impossible not to think about everything she’s already been through in her short 7 years. Despite the confusion, medical tests, medications, and long journey to get here, Luna continues to be such a gentle, trusting little soul 💕

Tomorrow’s surgery is a very big deal for her. The specialists are hopeful this procedure will help improve her quality of life and give her the healthy future she deserves.

As you can imagine, the costs are significant. The current estimate for surgery and post-operative hospitalization is between $4,800–$6,200, and could increase if complications arise.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has donated, shared her story, and sent kind messages and prayers. Rescue dogs like Luna only get these chances because people care 💛

🐾 Appa's Journey to a New Beginning 🐾

Appa, a Schnauzer from Las Vegas, was surrendered by his owner. I will post in the comments the photo the owner provided, which was represented as a current picture of Appa.

When Appa came into our care, it was clear he needed more than just transportation. He needed a couple of weeks of good groceries, medication, rest, and most importantly, the reassurance that he was loved and mattered.

Because of the incredible dedication and compassion of the Many Paws Volunteer Transport Team, Appa is now on his way to a brighter future. After receiving the care he needed to regain his strength, he will arrive at his rescue on Monday afternoon, where the next chapter of his life can begin.

Thank you to every volunteer who donated time, supplies, love, and miles to help this sweet boy. Every leg of the journey, every meal, every medication, and every kind word made a difference.

Safe travels, Appa. Your new life is waiting. ❤️🐾

🦷🐾 Alfie had a big day at the vet on Friday…

Sweet Alfie went in for a dental procedure and ended up needing 14 teeth removed 💔

Considering the condition he came to us in as a neglected stray from Chicago, it’s sadly not surprising that his mouth had been causing him pain for a very long time. Years of neglect had clearly taken a toll on this sweet boy—not just on the outside, but inside too.

But through everything, Alfie continues to be such a gentle, quiet, loving little guy 🥹💕

He is recovering well and finally on the road to feeling more comfortable. Between his dental care, neuter, cyst removals, heart medications, and ongoing medical evaluations, this boy has already been through so much in rescue—but he handles it all with such trust and sweetness.

We are so proud of him 💛

🦷 See a photo of Alfie’s removed teeth in the comments.

Please keep Alfie in your thoughts as he heals and continues his journey toward the comfortable life he always deserved.

💔🐾 Luna Mae needs a miracle this Tuesday

This sweet 7-year-old schnauzer will undergo liver shunt surgery this Tuesday at the University of Madison-Wisconsin Veterinary Care 🥺

Luna’s diagnostics revealed a congenital extra-hepatic portosystemic shunt, meaning her liver cannot properly filter toxins from her body. She has already been battling elevated liver values, neurologic symptoms from hepatic encephalopathy, and other congenital abnormalities—but through it all, Luna remains incredibly gentle, sweet, and trusting 💕

Without surgery, her condition will continue affecting her quality of life. This procedure gives her the chance to finally feel better and have the future she deserves.

The estimated cost for surgery and post-operative hospitalization is currently between $4,800–$6,200, and could increase if complications arise.

We know times are hard for everyone, but if you are able to help—even a small amount—it truly makes a difference for dogs like Luna 💛

Most importantly, please share her story and keep her in your thoughts on Tuesday. Rescue dogs only get these chances because people care.

✨ Donation information is in the comments.
