Protect, Pump & Pour Life Into Kids’ Dreams! 🚀
On May 27, 2021, 18 year old Timothy Harrison arrived at work for his 7 a.m. shift at a Waffle House in Center Point, Alabama. It was supposed to be a very special day for him, his high school graduation from Woodlawn High School. But things were not easy. He had no ride to the ceremony, no graduation clothes, and no tickets for his family.
When his manager, Cedric Hampton, found out, he quickly stepped in to help. The restaurant team did not want Timothy to miss his big moment. Employees each gave around $40 to buy him proper clothes. They got him gray pants, a blue shirt, a tie, and shoes so he could look ready for graduation. Even some customers joined in and helped.
At the same time, coworker Shantana Blevins drove to Timothy’s high school to pick up his cap and gown. After that, she drove him about 20 miles across Birmingham so he could reach the ceremony on time.
Timothy made it just in time for his graduation. After the ceremony, the Waffle House team was waiting in the parking lot, cheering loudly for him and celebrating his achievement.
Later, his story was shown on local news. People were deeply touched by the kindness he received. Because of this, Lawson State Community College president Cynthia Anthony offered him a full scholarship, including books.
That fall, Timothy started studying business and finance, carrying with him a story of kindness, teamwork, and support from people who believed in him.
