The second largest city in New England, Worcester is also known as the "Heart of the Commonwealth" as it is in the center of Massachusetts. It is going through an urban revival with several new housing developments and a new AAA baseball team and park.

As Massachusetts's housing market has gotten more competitive, Worcester has also seen numerous changes and challenges as it's ranked the 3rd hottest market according to realtor.com. In fact, more than half of the region’s rental housing is in the City of Worcester. MFHC is working to address access to housing and renters' rights with outreach and action in Worcester.

Seven state fair housing organizations are slated to receive a $1 million grant to help combat housing discrimination and expand access to housing protections amid federal funding reductions.
