Over the weekend, the Union made a time-limited offer to Square One in a good faith offer to settle the contract and avoid a strike. Four percent separates our proposals. Square One rejected the Union’s time-limited offer. The strike deadline remains in effect.

🚨 After over a year of bargaining, more than 50 UAW child care workers have set a strike deadline of 5 PM TODAY.

UAW Local 2322 represents teachers, staff, cooks and drivers at Square One, an early education and family support services provider in Springfield, Massachusetts.

“Obviously, strikes are the last resort,” Local 2322 President Patrick Burke said. “We haven’t seen management make offers that are making progress for our folks.”

In response to the union’s strike deadline, Square One management has intimidated union members without presenting counterproposals to the union or making serious efforts to avoid a strike and settle the contract.
