This year, Strong Girls United Women is celebrating a powerful milestone—1,000 girls who have passed through our School Health Clubs and 1,000 women whose lives have been transformed through our Agriculture for Livelihood Project.
Every stride we take represents a girl empowered with knowledge, a woman supported to earn a living, and a community made safer, healthier, and stronger.
But our journey does not stop here.
There are still many more girls and women who need our support.

Today, as the world marks the International Day of the Girl Child under the theme “End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights,”
Strong Girls United Women stands firmly with every girl whose dreams, education, safety and future must be protected.
Child marriage is not a solution.
It is a barrier.
It interrupts education, limits opportunity, exposes girls to harm, and takes away their right to grow, learn, lead and choose their own future.
Every girl deserves to remain in school, be heard, and be supported to become the woman she is meant to be.
At Strong Girls United Women, we believe that when a girl is confident, informed and supported, she can rise above every limitation placed before her.
Over the past five years, our school Health clubs have helped build the confidence of close to 1,000 girls,giving them a safe space to learn about their rights, speak up, develop leadership skills, and believe in themselves.
We are proud of every girl who has found her voice through our clubs.
We remain committed to creating more safe spaces, strengthening girls’ confidence, and working with families, schools and communities to end child marriage and protect girls’ rights.
A girl’s future should never be decided for her.
Let us invest in girls. Let us protect their childhood.
Let us end child marriage.

Today I pay a visit at the Bo Government Hospital to see Isatu Koroma the young girl earlier found helpless at the Bo Government Hospital gate by S I K Online TV.

Through the will of God Almighty, with the support of Bo Government Hospital, Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs, Strong Girls United Women Organization, and S I K online tv, Isatu Koroma is getting much better.

What if the biggest infrastructure Africa is missing isn’t a road, a port, or a power plant—but a care system?

Think about it.
Before a child becomes a student, someone cares for them.
Before a worker can go to work, someone cares for children, elders, the sick, and the home.
Before a society can build its economy, someone is caring for the people who make that economy possible.
Yet much of this work remains unpaid, invisible and undervalued and it is carried disproportionately by women and girls.

Care is the hidden infrastructure of every economy.

So why do we continue to treat it as a private family responsibility rather than a public investment and a development priority?
Across Africa, putting care at the center of economic and political development could change the way we think about growth.
Investing in childcare, healthcare, eldercare, disability services, social protection, water, energy and other essential services isn't simply “social spending.” It creates jobs, frees time, strengthens families and communities, and enables more people- especially women and girls -to participate fully in economic and public life.

We need to recognize, reduce, redistribute, reward and represent care work—both paid and unpaid.
Because care isn't separate from the economy.
Care makes the economy possible.
We need to put it at the center of the development conversation.
Care is infrastructure.
Care is economic policy.
Care is political policy.
Care is development.
The question is not whether Africa can afford to invest in care. The question is whether Africa can afford not to.

🌾 Equipping Women, Cultivating Change: SGUW’s Support for Sustainable Agriculture

As we continue to support and empower women in sustainable agriculture, farming equipment and rain gear were distributed to women in the three communities. The women expressed excitement and demonstrated resilience in their work.

Previously, they relied on their bare hands and traditional methods for weeding, ploughing, and sowing. With the provision of farming tools by SGUW, farming has become easier, more efficient, and less physically demanding. The rain gear also provides protection during rainy conditions, enabling the women to continue their agricultural activities safely and effectively.

Strong Girls United Women organization is thrilled to welcome a BRAND-NEW cohort of bold, brilliant girls into our School Health Clubs at Panorama Secondary School and Kakua Secondary School!
With renewed energy and commitment, these clubs are already powerful hubs for SRHR education, confidence-building, and girls' empowerment.

And guess what? We're closing in on 1,000 girls graduating from our School Health Clubs across Sierra Leone!
That's 1,000 voices, 1,000 leaders, 1,000 changemakers.

How do we keep doing it?
Simple: Passion. Partnership. Purpose. And yes we're willing to share our playbook with schools, NGOs, and champions who want to replicate this movement!
