🌳13 Trees, One Community, A Greener Future!

On October 7, we came together at Ely Park in Holyoke to plant more than just 13 shade trees. We planted hope, unity, and a greener future for generations to come! 🌱

A heartfelt thank you to Hispanic Access Foundation for supporting this beautiful mission, and to our incredible partners and volunteers for making it possible.

Together, we're growing a healthier, greener Holyoke—one tree at a time!

It's !

Have you ever stopped to think about how amazing it is that we have farmers farming right in the cities? This is a great week to get to know the folks who grow and cultivate food right near you.

It's time for another on New England Public Media!

This week, we visited Agudelo Farm and Apiary and talked with owner Gustavo Agudelo. Gustavo farms on the Nuestras Raices community farm, which provides land to more than ten small-scale farmers.

Listen here: https://www.buylocalfood.org/nepm-agudelo-farm-and-apiary/

Agudelo Farm and Apiary’s mission is to help create easier access to healthier and more nutritious foods for our local community. Give it a listen to learn more about Gustavo’s journey to farming, the connections between the farm, Nuestras Raices, and the larger Holyoke community, and where you can buy Agudelo Farm and Apiary’s honey and produce!

Mission Accomplished at Ely Park!

On October 7, we held a community tree planting event at Ely Park in Holyoke as part of the **Nuestros Árboles, Nuestra Salud** project.

We planted 13 shade trees! Another step toward a greener, healthier, and more beautiful community.

A special thank you to Hispanic Access Foundation for sponsoring and supporting this important project, as well as to all our partner organizations and volunteers who work together to bring this initiative to life.

Together, we continue planting the seeds for a greener future in Holyoke! 🌳

We are celebrating the unveiling of the _Nuestros Árboles, Nuestra Salud_ mural, a work of art that represents the heart and spirit of this meaningful community project.

More than a mural, it reflects the commitment, unity, and hope behind the ongoing effort to plant more than 250 fruit and shade trees throughout Holyoke, Massachusetts.

Through this project, we continue planting life, beautifying our neighborhoods, and creating healthier spaces while providing shade, food, and well-being for future generations.

We are deeply grateful to Hispanic Access Foundation for their support and guidance, as well as to all the organizations, volunteers, and community members who continue making this initiative possible.

Every tree we plant, and every person who contributes their time and effort, is helping create a greener, healthier, and stronger future for Holyoke. 🌱💚
