🌺 The Moku of Kona needs YOU!
The stories, faces, and memories of our beloved Kona are slipping away with time. Pūlama iā Kona is on a mission to preserve the precious history of our community — and we can't do it without you.
Whether you have old photos, family stories, or simply a heart for our land and people, your kokua matters now more than ever.

We need specific volunteers to share our history with our community.

💕 Volunteer. Share. Preserve. Before it's too late.

Big Mahalo to our Exacutive Director Antu, she has posted all of our historic informational building signs throughout Hōlualoa village 🥰
We could not do this without the participation of families, building and shop owners willing to create the space for these signs. Also much gratitude for our volunteers who keep our monument area clean and support our first Friday pop up table at Studio 7!

We are currently looking for volunteers to set up and share our work during first Fridays in front of Studio 7 Fine Arts in Hōlualoa. We are there from 5:30pm till 8pm. Email us at [email protected] and help us share stories.

Big mahalo to our new volunteer Gabriel Monak for helping our ED, Antu Harvey putting up the historic informational signs for Holualoa School and Kona & Ka’u Telephone and Telegraph Co. and cleaning up Kona Hongwanji’s wooden sign in preparation to add their historic informational sign.

Truly a lot of work and it takes a village.
We are grateful for all the support in donations and volunteer hours we received in 2025 and 2026 to get to this point. By Friday we aimed to get all of our signs up in Holualoa village!

So grateful as remembering our immigrant history is very important so we may not repeat past mistakes as we tread challenging times again. This makes our volunteer hours worth while when we can share and preserve this history of Kona with our community.

If you have stories to share that pertains to the Moku of Kona please get in touch 🩵 [email protected]

Feel free to donate towards our Saving Kona Stories project where we continue to interview and record stories from our kupuna. www.pulama.org

Our Executive Director Antu Harvey is working hard to put up the last four signs. Today she place a historic informational sign at Crown Flower in Holualoa village. Next is Holualoa Elementary School’s history.

Our small and mighty team is working very hard to get more information on our website and on the Clio App so our community can one day take self guided walking tours.

More to come!
